Before kickoff, the sidelines at Colorado’s stadium are now the place to be seen. There’s rapper DaBaby hyping up the crowd. There are Sanders’ friends and fellow football Hall of Famers Terrell Owens, Warren Sapp, and Michael Irvin. Hey, that’s basketball Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett and future baseball Hall of Famer CC Sabathia and rapper Symba. The VIPs wear a special credential around their necks: Prime Passes, in the shape of the gold whistle Sanders uses in practice. Boulder County is 1.3% Black, yet as one sideline spectator observes, the scene “feels like Black Hollywood.”
And what’s been happening on the field is as spectacular as what’s happening off. As the Buffaloes charged back against the Trojans, slicing a 41-14 third-quarter deficit to 48-41 with just under two minutes left, Folsom Field, filled with more than 54,000 roaring fans, felt like the epicenter of sports. Could Sanders’ squad, which had already exceeded expectations, stimulated the college-football economy, and compelled more than 8 million people to watch Colorado beat Colorado State in double overtime after 2:15 a.m. Eastern time in mid-September—ESPN’s highest college-football viewership figure at that hour—pull off this monumental comeback?
USC recovered the late onside kick to clinch the game, but Colorado’s charge just added to the Coach Prime euphoria. “The atmosphere is electric, man,” DaBaby tells me before leaving the field. “Look, f-ck the NFL game. Right now this is the most exciting place to be in football.”

He did walk the walk....
So it is OK if he talks the talk...
IMHO...
I didn’t see the post in #15, yeah Deion never had to tackle because nobody ever threw his way.
Yeah, that’s about right.
Many things remind me of Jerry Rice. Look up Jerry Rice and The Hill. We used to run in that same area. When Rice started with the Oakland Raiders, Gruden was the Coach. Some of the young Raiders, especially the Defensive Backs, thought Rice was over the hill. Gruden smiled, and had them try to run The Hill with Rice. They quickly learned just how dedicated Rice is/was. These 22,24 year olds couldn’t make it halfway to the top.
Also, Steve Young tells the story of cleaning out his locker a few days after winning the Superbowl. Rice was on the field running routes, making perfect cuts, and running all the into the end zone each time. When Rice came to the NFL, he started doing that, running all the way, with each practice catch he would make. Not only was it a great workout, it was a mindset that he would try for a touchdown every time. His NFL record of 208 total touchdowns is testament to his work ethic and mindset.
is a very upbeat man and religious too these days.
Watched Deion Sanders play home games at FSU, was the real deal and elevated EVERY team player to be their best. Neon Deion turned into Coach Prime.
Both of his kids are good football players but that quarterback Shedeur could be great. I’m enjoying watching their games even when they lose.
I liked that Boston team where three starters and the 6th man were Caucasian.
I blame the C-19 vaxxx for his current condition, with his clots in legs and two toes cut off. Though I have read that he had a history of blood clot problems before the Scamdemic.
I blame the vaxxx for making his previous clotting problem worse.
“The Hill” at The Edgewood Park & Natural Preserve, the covert training destination for the playmaking wideout and running back Roger Craig during the golden age of 49ers football.
Hill training is wildly popular among both high-performing athletes and fitness enthusiasts, but Rice and company were the originators. Hitting the rugged hills is what the NFL legend attributes his body of work to—as well as his finely-tuned body.
Rice would run insane distances uphill—2½ miles nonstop—each and every day during the off-season.
