When ‘blast’ is the effect you want, kinda like this situation when there is furniture, obstacles in a room, the setup of the explosive makes the difference. Frags probably would have worked, but then the device would have been much larger than a grenade.

Appeared to be either F-1 or RGD-5 hand grenades, most likely RGD-5

RGD-5 - note the smoother "egg shape"
Both have exposed fuze assemblies that stick up out of the grenade. In the videos, you can hear the "SNAP" of the ignitors when he releases the safety levers.
