Iran, Russia, slam US-UK joint strikes on Yemen’s Houthis, warn of ‘instability in the region’

Iran and Russia are slamming airstrikes carried out early Friday by the U.S. and Britain against the Iranian-backed Houthis in Yemen, calling them "irresponsible" and warning that they "will only contribute to insecurity and instability in the region."

Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Nasser Kannani said in a statement to Reuters that "These attacks are a clear violation of Yemen's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and a breach of international laws.

Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova also said "We strongly condemn these irresponsible actions by the United States and its allies" and called for an urgent meeting of the U.N. Security Council on Friday to discuss the matter, according to Reuters.

Mere posturing.

The Russians weren't noted for their "proportionate" responses to Somali pirates. They simply killed them.

The Houthis and their Iranian masters deserve the same response.

I predict that Iran sets off a nuke in the next few weeks. Probably on a ship in the southern Indian Ocean.

I am sure they are trading their drones for the technical help to do that.
