Just this past week, a 5-year-old car crash victim's last photograph, with tubes and braces in a hospital bed, was published by DailyMail with her father's permission—he wanted other speeding drunk drivers to think twice. The photo was so heart-rending that numerous people in the comments couldn't bear it, insisting the photo should be taken down.
I also remember the infamous coffin photos of Emmett Till, released in the late 50s - early 60s by his mother, so people would see the violence done by race haters to her child.
