Country singer Toby Keith died Monday at the age of 62, his family wrote in a statement posted to his website and social media accounts early Tuesday.
"Toby Keith passed away peacefully last night on February 5th, surrounded by his family," the statement read.
"He fought his fight with grace and courage," it continued. "Please respect the privacy of his family at this time."

My son was a pretty normal height kid until almost 14 years old. He started really getting taller rapidly and was diagnosed with leukemia about that time.
When he died at barely 16, he was about 1 inch shorter than me, I was 6'2’ at the time.
I'll always wonder if there was a connection.
I had a person who lost his leg explain that to me. He was about 6’5 and he said that he grew very rapidly in his teens. Unfortunately, that rapid growth cost him his leg from cancer.
He also explained that Terry Fox, the runner across Canada, had lost his leg as well from cancer and he also had a sudden growth spurt in his teems.
I think that cells that rapidly divide may be more prone to genetic errors that can lead to cancer than a more normal growth pattern.
I’m sorry that your son died so young.
