I think some people still naively assume that AI is simply another tool that will be able to be utilised to create jobs like previous labour saving machinery. This may be true in the short term but in the longer term, the AI is going to be able to use every other tool and much more efficiently. They are already integrating AI into robotic bodies that are able to analyse and manipulate their environments like humans, and eventually it is going to reach the point they will be able to do any job a person has, but exponentially better. Remains to be seen what the billionaire class will do when they see they jo longer have a use for millions of obsolete meatbag workers.
They've already stated that they intend to reduce the human population to about a half billion globally. I don't know why people don't believe that the WEFscum are being serious.
