Gavin and Browning lost Market Garden by wasting time securing a hill outside of town instead of the 2nd bridge.
The delay caused by the bridge not being taken when the tanks arrived ended all chance of victory.

None of that would have been an issue if Monty had kept going after taking Antwerp. Monty didn’t keep hitting the Germans when they only cared about getting out of Holland, and that gave Von Rundstedt plenty of time to restore order to his front. Monty could have also cleared the Schelde and relieve the supply crisis. By the time he got around to that, the Germans were ready for him there, too.
