Sarah Palin Hints About Wanting to Be Trump's Next Running Mate
Newsweek ^

Posted on 02/22/2024 11:40:18 AM PST by bryan999

Sarah Palin on Tuesday seemingly hinted that she would like to be former President Donald Trump's running mate in 2024.

Palin, who was John McCain's running mate during his failed White House bid in 2008, described what she felt would be the qualities of an ideal candidate for Trump's vice presidential candidate during an appearance on the Newsmax program The Balance.

"Trump needs to choose somebody who, like him, has nothing to lose. What more can they do to that person personally or verbal attacks or anything else on family?" she said. "That person has been through the wringer, so they know what they're getting into. And that person then can just focus on doing what's right for the people."

When Newsmax host Eric Bolling asked if she was just describing herself, Palin answered while laughing: "Not necessarily."

I voted for Sarah and not numbnuts but she kinda lost me when she let the lawfare drive her out. Trump isn’t a quitter. Neither should his vp be.

DeSantis can and will do a lot more good as the most conservative governor in the nation than he would in the meaningless office of the VP - that’s what I would say if Trump was not as old as he is. As it is, Trump will be 78 on Inauguration Day 2025, and his VP stands a good chance of becoming president. Under these circumstances, I’d love to see DeSantis as VP.

“Trump has many better options.”

I don’t think he has better options, exactly. He has options that are equally as good as she. But the media destroyed her to the point where even so-called patriots on this site despise her. She would’ve been a breath of fresh air in DC. Still would. but it won’t happen.

Sen Tim Scott all the way. He’s a stand up guy. Saavy. Up to date. Good manager. He’s my first choice.

Noem is strategically placed to get that oil up and running.

MTG is a Grendel in the flesh, and chewin’ butts in congress is a worthy calling.

Ramaswamy would be a better press secretary and although I take interest, I have serious thoughts against slotting him for Veep at this point in time.

Elise Stefanik? She had a moment but she needs to cure a bit more.

Byron Donalds is impressive, very knowledgeable, another no nonsense manager who is on top of many issues. Director of the National Economic Council could be a good fit.

Tulsi? Oh... that’s awkward. In reality I think she would make a better running mate for RFK Jr but I’m not voting Democrat so that doesn’t really lend itself to this conversation as far as I’m concerned.

Love Sarah Palin. She has such great political common sense. “Drill, Baby, Drill”. But the loathsome media branded her and half the idiots in this country think she can see Russia from her porch.
I would love to see her in a Cabinet position. Energy would be perfect.

Tulsi wasn’t born in the United States. She’s not Constitutionally eligible for the presidency. She’s not a natural born Citizen.

Somebody ought to tell the folks at CPAC about her ineligibility because she’s on their STRAW POLL list of Veep candidates this weekend.

I never expected DeSantis to be the VP pick. Trump is trying to appeal to others besides just conservatives. His pick will likely be a woman or maybe a black person.

Like the attacks you used on Trump when pushing RDS?

I didn’t attack Trump. I expected him to win the nomination from the beginning. It just wouldn’t have been productive. Just like it’s not productive to be attacking DeSantis. It’s is actually stupid as I had stated.

Who ever asked you to kiss up to him? I don’t get it. Someone was bashing him. It’s a stupid waste of time. Trump is going to need every vote. Why divide the party even more. I can assure you that I know republicans that aren’t going to be voting for Trump. I wish democrats were like that but they’re not. Do we need to push more away?

Trump mentioned her name the other night at the Fox News town hall, so I wanted to post a thread and see what random people think of her as VP.

I suppose there are some cons to choosing Palin as VP. But aren’t there some pros, too?

The list that Laura Ingaram rattled off sucked imo.

I could see her having a place in his administration to do good and recoup dollars lost to Dem lawfare in Alaska. Regardless of family drama she fought the good fight, trying to make loser McCain win when he was planning to lose.
