It reads like in spite of holding a DNIncubate order, “at home”, the husband got her off the ventilator and to amazement, she awoke to say what she did say, and was enabled to enjoy a week with a grateful and joyful husband and family around her, until she passed.

Seems the husband acted with valor. A terrible time for an unwell spouse to get that vent removed, while holding a DNI, “at home”, if I understood Jvette correctly. .

Her husband acted according to her wishes.

She was on peritoneal dialysis for over five years and suffered from emphysema. Her body was tired and breaking down. I had many days with her prior to the incident that sent her to the hospital and so knew what she wanted. We talked often about what was coming and she was ready.

The family was upset with him, but God allowed us that time together and we are grateful for that.

I posted because of the conversation regarding the neglectful and heartless “care and comfort” that hospital gave that poor man who suffered a heart attack and survived. When she woke up, the nurses and doctor’s gave her excellent care even though they knew she did not want extraordinary medical intervention to survive.
