The former Texas Tech defensive back, who also played for Texas, had 37 tackles last season
-Tyler Owens, an NFL prospect, told reporters at the NFL Combine on Thursday that he doesn't believe in space
-Owens, who played three years at the University of Texas and then two years at Texas Tech, is a favorite to have the fastest 40-yard dash time
-The Texas native was a high school track star who had multiple sub-11 seconds 100 meter dash finishes
-Tyler Owens is a favorite to post the fastest 40-yard dash time at the NFL combine, but the Texas Tech product is grabbing headlines for his comments off the field.
While speaking to reporters in Indianapolis on Thursday, the defensive back offered an unconventional take on his place in the world.
"I don't believe in space," Owens, 22, said in a video posted on X by Bleacher Report's Brent Sobleski. "I'm real religious, so I think we're alone right now. I don't think there's other planets and other stuff like that."
He added, "I thought I used to believe in the heliocentric thing where we used to revolve around the sun and stuff. But then I started seeing flat earth stuff and I was like, this is kind of interesting. They started bringing up valid points, so I mean I don't know, could be real, couldn't be."
Tom Brady, 46, Runs Faster 40-Yard Dash Than His 22-Year-Old Self: 'That Was Fun' While Owens contemplated the universe, he also predicted for himself an out-of-this-world 40-yard dash finish on Friday.

I am trying to be fair to the kid...even though I know most major college football players tend to be a bit let’s say “undereducated”.
Maybe he was saying something like( I will add words)...
I don’t believe in space( as it is depicted in popular movies and the media. Y’know with all the travel and different habitable planets.)
I think we’re alone. I don’t believe there are other planets (with living beings or humanoids as depicted in much of today’s popular media outlets.)
As far as his flat earth position, he said he was unsure as he was presented with observations that made him think. He needs to do more thinking, and thorough research on that position.
Was good on short yardage situations.
Actually what gives the college football so much money is the TV and radio contracts. I would guess if they depended on ticket sales, parking, memoribilia, most colleges wouldn’t be making enough money. IMHO
Just a little distraction off of a well-known event like the NFL Combine. Keeping it in the news.
I respect his rights to voice his opinion, moronic though I may consider it.
He probably plays in either domed arenas or under lights so bright that they blot out the Moon and stars.
...or the FReeper who said, “The USA can support 5 Billion people within its boundaries”...
To believe the Universe is any less majestic and breathtakingly expansive than astronomical science reveals is to belittle its Creator.
If you knew the Truth, you would affirm it.
Psaim 19, and live.
Psalm 19 and live.
FTA: ...fastest 40-yard dash time
In my day it was the 100 yard dash!
These kids today are lazy!
My brother recently returned from a trip to San Fancisco. While there, he went to the shore and saw a beautiful sunset. He stated, as hard as he looked, he still could not see Hawaii or any of the other Pacific islands.
