I was on blood thinners for a year after a Stent.

I didn’t like the cardiologist I had for other reasons and changed.

In the first office visit with the new doctor I asked him why I was left on thinners for
that long.....he stated there is no good reason for extended use of blood thinners and pulled me off ‘em immediately.

The bruising, and sensitivity to cool weather really sucked....and God forbid you knick yourself or get a proper cut, it’s a real ordeal to get it to clot.

Imagine getting into a serious car wreck. You could easily die from bleeding for no reason. Also blood thinners makes your heart work less, great right? If you have a healthy heart, you need that resistance to keep it strong. Like building a bicep or any other muscle. Resistance makes it stronger. If you have a weak heart Like stage 4 heart failure, then yes, you need baby aspirin or an anti-platelet or anti-coagulant.

There is a thing called QuikClot.

I saw how fast it stopped blood squirting from hubby’s arm in the hospital.
I think it’s on line thing. Pharmacy might have it but I doubt it.
Amazon has it. Different lengths.

Adventure Medical Kits QuikClot advance clotting gauze.
Not cheap but really works on ‘hose busting’ squirts.
