Something is not right about this story. I sense many parties are shielding Ohtani from culpability.

Well, he's either a very generous friend to bail his friend out of a $4.5 million gambling debt, and risk his career, and criminal penalty.

Or, that was actually his gambling debt, and he threw his friend under the bus to get out of trouble. (Possibly with the friend's buy in)



Does Manfred have the guts to ban Ohtani from baseball in his prime, if he is guilty?

If I was Pete Rose I'd be mad if they didn't. Especially if he bet on baseball?

You mean a translator who makes under $100,000 a year was able to obtain a $4.5 million line of credit from a bookie? The translator was an obvious go-between for someone.
