US airline regulators have launched an investigation after an engine cowling on a Boeing plane fell off during takeoff and struck the wing flap, the latest in a series of safety problems facing the aircraft manufacturer.

Southwest Airlines flight 3695 rose to about 3,140 metres (10,300ft) before returning safely 25 minutes after takeoff to Denver international airport at about 8.15am local time on Sunday. It was towed to the gate after landing.

The Boeing aircraft with 135 passengers and six crew members onboard had been headed to Houston, Texas. No one was injured.

Yes, she captured perfectly what happens to motivation in the Industrial world after anti-Capitalists have taken over. She began writing this story in the late 40’s having lived in America for 2 decades. She hoped her adopted home wouldn't go the way the intellectuals were driving it. Here we are 80 years later.

Hopefully that dude is masking for a paint job but I kinda doubt it.

Having been in aviation maintenance for the US Navy for 31 years I saw my share of “field repairs” come in from squadrons in far away lands that had limited resources.

Patching sheet metal aircraft battle damage with fiberglass and flattened out tin or aluminum cans was not all that uncommon during desert storm/shield.

Zero to do with Boeing. One hundred percent to do with maintenance.

This is a maintenance issue. Not a Boeing issue.

Yup the latest in a series of safety problems facing the aircraft manufacturer. is a lie, not an exaggeration or a mis-statement, an outright lie.

I'm beginning to think this is a campaign , like fake bad Yelp reviews, designed to do intentional damage to Boeing's business.

All seriousness aside, I looked up the price on aviation speed tape (commonly misidentified as duct tape).. Anywhere from $44 to $73 per roll. It had better work great!

No, it’s a maintenance issue. No matter when that aircraft was delivered, I assure you, SW crews have had that engine cover off and on. It’s on them. -- Fireone

I'd bet money that Fireone is correct.

Canadia has had their share of great comedic talent.

John Candy, Steve Martin, Rick Moranis, Dan Ackroyd and on and on.

A bit irreverent and not for everyone but you might wanna check out the sitcom “Trailer Park Boys” .....I find it hilarious.

Boeing really needs to stop relying on Acme Corporation as its parts vendor.

Oops. I think I screwed up the recipients list, but I’d bet it’s a maintenance issue.

More like GE engine cover falls off. Not their problem either. Bad Maintenance.

Could still be DEI related if maintenance crews are hired according to DEI.
