It may say they’re pretty smart. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a publicity hound DA going after them for selling a zero-proof drink to a minor.

Since it is all computerized, it is trivial to just not flag NA beverages as requiring ID. The Register should only prompt for ID if it's actually alcoholic. You shouldn't even have to rely on the folks at the register (if any) being able to tell the difference between brands that might be NA.
