Vermont and New Hampshire? Both blue, many guns and hardly any gun violence. A flawed meme but close.
I think it's a great meme for getting the point across, but it's also embarrassing for our side that the blue areas are controlling this country.

Remember, after 1963 this was the claim to ban the import of 5 shot bolt action army surplus firearms. They got the ban in 1968 till Reagan removed it.
The real reason for the ban was to protect the hunting rifle industry in New England from competition. After all, a $95 dollar hunting rifle cannot compete against a $15 dollar army surplus rifle.
Now the New England states are running their hunting rifle companies out and to the South.
They have more people, so that’s what happens when “democracy” is the guiding principle. Authoritarians are very good at manipulating the emotions of the less astute.
