I lived a dozen or so years in the Green Bay area. The crisis predicted then was Lake Michigan drying up. (2010)

These “scientists” are a pathetic joke. I suppose if all ice on earth melts and it rains for 7 years we COULD be in trouble. Am I a “scientist”?

Why would "global warming" cause Lake Michigan to rise? There are no melting glaciers feeding it, and it's 577 feet above sea level. I thought "global warming" was supposed to cause terrible, devastating droughts, which would certainly cause the Great Lakes to fall, not to rise.

“experts have forecast that rising water levels could have serious consequences.”

#####################

The only rising water level that Chicago has to worry about is that mile high sheet of ice that will come down from the north, sooner rather than later.

Much of South Chicago is flooded, along with a huge swathe of the East Side. Whole neighborhoods are submerged underwater, with the newly-flooded areas heading as far inland as Marian R. Byrnes Park and the Chicago Bureau of Sanitation. Lawrence Elementary School would also have been lost to the lake.

I'm trying to figure out what the problem is here.....

More lakefront property means increased property values.

Being a “climate scientist” must be an easy job. Just use the handy template below. No one will question it. Sit back, and watch the grant money come rolling in.

Template:
In less than ten years, Climate Change might cause (something good) to (something bad).

Example:
In less than ten years, Climate Change might cause trees to explode.

Pretty easy, eh?

Enviro-wacko “scientists.”

IIRC, 1986, Lake Michigan was 3 ft higher than “normal.”

No panic.

“””Now, curious Americans can use a tool created by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to conduct their own research. The government agency has created an interactive map showing how the lake’s shorelines would change under various level rises.””””

If anyone wonders how our Federal Government is almost $35 TRILLION in debt, this is one reason.

Check the math. 30 million 4500 miles is 7000/mile. If everyone went to the water they would line up shoulder to shoulder with 1.5 ft/person. Dont think so.
