Israel's next actions need to be weighed carefully because it will have a global impact. What I believe Israel needs to do is wage a war in such a way whereby the Iranian people can rise up and finish the Green Revolution, destroy the Mullahcracy and then tie up all loose ends with Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis and other radical Islamic terrorist groups.
Consider the last scene of The Godfather. "Michael: Barzini's dead. So is Phillip Tattaglia, Moe Greene, Stracci, Cuneo. Today, I settle all family business, so don't tell me you're innocent, Carlo."
I’ve always wanted a PIECE of the MIDDLE EAST. :)
I didn’t want the US to get involved in Ukraine.
I didn’t want the US to get involved in Gaza.
I’m tempted to say “Now is our chance! Let’s get Iran!” but I’m thinking we should keep our distance from this one too.
The Moolah$ have been beggin’ for somebody to nuke Iran for sometime now.
(face palm)
But at the same time, we should never forget the role that Democrat Jimmy Carter and Zbig Brzezinski played in in removing our good ally, the Shah, and the installation of the Ayatollah.
Instead of the CIA constantly picking the wrong side and overthrowing the wrong governments, including our own in 2020, maybe they should concentrate on Iran. There are plenty of smart Persians who would love to overthrow their 6th century cult overlords. Do something right for a change. Unfortunately the State Dept is 100% on the side of jihadis.
Israel needs its own Alexander the Great to permantly end the Persian menace. The mullah regime rallies its people with Death to Israel chants, uses surrogates to attack Israel and is constantly seeking the latest technology to destroy the Jewish state. Israel must eliminate the mullah regime.
At least you got the I before the E.
Hows about we re-re-elect Trump and let him sort it out.
Works for me. 😄
Russia came out the other day to say that any attack on Iranian soil would cause them to come to Iran’s assistance. Not to mention that Iran could close the Strait of Hormuz and collapse Western economies. So attacking Iran is likely to cause more problems than it solves.
Middle East piece?
Or, peace?
Thank you for this post - there’s too many here all het up over the bombing of the terrorist’s embassy - while ignoring all the crap they spread...
Used to be FR had a lot of sensible conservative realists - these days there’s a lot of Kool-Aid drunk “converts.
The Iranian people don’t want absolute freedom any more than we the American people do. It’s too much of a struggle compared to the bounty that we have at the moment. YOU, me, everyone talks a good game but will never do anything to jeopardize the delicate balance of “freedom” and food on the table, aside from bitching and the occasional flamboyant t-shirt or bumper sticker.
The mullahs in Iran, just as the mullahs (Politians and those pulling their strings) in America aren’t going anywhere. They will get more money and power with our blessings.
They and us might trade one faction for the next but nothing changes in the end...
Which piece of the Middle East?
Biden as a puppet of Obama gave them billions and the precarious state of war in the Middle East is the direct result of that deliberate action.
They cannot be allowed to have nukes and the means to deliver them, period.
Iran has finally provided the open door to do it. If we don't help the Israelis (bunker busters, deep earth penetrators, intel and targeting), then we are suicidal idiots.
Waiting for "Joe Iran" to rise up and defeat the Mullahs is not a viable strategy - no matter what my "draft-dodger conservatives" might think.
Doesn't always workout for the US. We always sacrifice our blood and treasure for the world. Anyone wanting to fix things by destroying and taking over Iran needs to get their head examined. We've been messing with them at least back to the early 50's.
You want to “end” Persia. Goddamit ypu’re fkn st00pit - and evil.
American Israel-firsters, like you, should just move to the Israel shithole already.
Iran should have been ended 45 years ago, the first time they messed with us.
Not going to happen. We are funding Iran.
