Reflexively, one wants to reject Ritchson's comment as ignorant and wrong. On reflection though, I am not so sure that he is entirely off base.
Consider the wanton police misconduct on January 6 at the Capitol, especially the wanton killing of Ashleigh Babbitt. I call that a cop getting away with murder.
More broadly, the selective prosecution of Trump and his political allies and FBI conduct toward them are deeply wrong. Not even the judges look good, with many January 6 defendants jailed on bogus or excessive charges and kept in dismal and cruel conditions before trial.
On balance, I am still a supporter of law enforcement, but less so nowadays.
