Good article. I met a man who was crippled with arthritis. After finding a source of raw milk, the arthritis disappeared.

There are ways to heal.

We have had success with homeopathy.

Neither have I, mostly due to lactose issues. It’s unnatural to drink another animals milk. In fact, Humans are the only animals that take the milk of another mammal for their own consumption.

That’s great. When our goats were gone I made kombucha instead of kefir. Found A2 at the grocery store about 3-4 years ago. I stood and looked at the cooler and could hear the angels sing. Their infant formula is available in the US too. I also know a local cow dairy with a retail store that is all A2. I get whole A2 milk brand at the grocery store for drinking and 2% A2 at the local store for kefir. I can even get a half gallon of whole heavy cream there for 9.00. Used to be 6.00.

Pasteurization is a flawed process of "kill it all" instead of "test for what might be a problems".

The "kill it all" approach kills all the beneficial ingredients that people need.

Like most food processing, cheaper and legal beats value and effectiveness.

These food producers would have you eating plastic - oh wait, they already do.

When I was weaning our first born I started giving him raw goats milk. He did well on it. Now, almost 50 years later I have developed lactose intolerance. I think it was because of radiation treatment I got after a hysterectomy. Sad because no pizza, no lasagna, and I’m probably also going to cut out butter. Oh well. I do feel better. No more bloating and I’m sleeping better. Anyone know whether raw milk is better tolerated for people like me?

There isn’t that much beneficial in commercial milk to worry about. Unpasteurized milk is becoming legal in more states, does that make it less enticing ? Personally I wouldn’t buy it outside of fermenting kefir. The govt simply can’t afford to subsidize small farmers to pay extreme attention to hygiene standards.

Surgery can trigger lactose intolerance.

My daughter developed it after her appendectomy.

. "If you poll people about why they drink raw milk, the No. 1 thing they're going to say: It's delicious! 'It tastes good. It settles in my belly. It feels good. It makes me feel good,'" McAfee explained.

It may also be that because it contains more fat (around 4% versus about 3.25% than store bought whole milk, and the latter in translucent plastic containers has an off taste due to oxidation by light.

We grew most everything we ate. Meals were heavy on vegetables, light on meats. I’m 72 now and healthier than most of my childhood friends who didn’t grow up on a family.

A real family itself is more rare.

Fourteen years ago my daughter had an asthma attack and was hospitalized. Traditional medicine failed. After researching, we put her on raw milk. Our family has consumed it since then and not a single asthma attack. The science of it has to do with mast cells. The Parsifal study is one of the sources that led us on our path. https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa1007302 People drank raw milk for 5,000 years and didn’t get sick. The problems arose when they put the dairies in the cities next to the distilleries. (The conditions were filthy and they would feed the cows the corn mash)

Casein A2 milk is found from Guernsey cows. Holsteins make Casein A1. There is now a GMO Holstein strain that produces Casein A2, so this problem may be history soon.

New to me. Worked at a family dairy for years, all Holsteins. Lot's of stories though, praise God.

If you are not Asian, but are older, you become more lactose intolerant. You can do a search for cheeses that have more or less lactose.

At 71, never had a problem, thank God.

Freerepublic is not what it once was. The intercultural level of FRepers pales in comparison to previous years. First, people on this forum seem to reply without even reading the article. And the opinions they spout are nearly totally uninformed.

It is highly likely that you’ll tolerate the lactose in raw milk. Because the lactase hasn’t been destroyed by pasteurization.

There are a multitude of sources out there that you can research on this topic. The link above is just a brief snippet

You could not be more wrong. Problem with associative assumption. Made that clear to you in my previous post— where am coming from. Nothing wrong with raw milk. My comments were how to get it... the right way, and not depend on others for it. You know, like farmers actually do? It’s too bad industry will never address this in favor of mass production of watery emulsion of fat with no flavor or additional nutrients. We’re done here. Think what you will, cause you will anyway.

I had a Nubian goat at one time that gave more milk than I could consume. When I would pour it into a flat pan in the weening piglet pen they would fight for it. Top dollar fats in the auction barn later.
