Here in Phoenix, the dominant local player is Filiberto’s. So much so that there is a flotilla of knock-offs with eyllow signs and similar names (Poliberto’s, Julioberto’s, Eriberto’s, Rolberto’s, Riliberto’s, Adalberto’s, Hilberto’s)

My Tempe-raised nephew explained they all used to be Filiberto’s but due to some hilarious tax sheltering and money laundering shenanigans ended up as separate businesses but named similarly. After that came various corporate divorces and we now have the situation you’ve described.

believe it or not I live in Oceanside 50 miles from the order and we don’t have a decent mexican restaurant But we have 5 of the -—ertos you mentioned.
