I think a lot of people believe that the Government is doing the right thing when it “games the system” and tilts the playing field towards a group that “deserves it”. And that, of course, would be the group that I happen to belong to.
If I’m black, and Obama is tilting things to benefit me, then Obama is a righteous dude. BUT if a politician comes along and tilts things toward illegal aliens, then suddenly I think that this is a terrible practice.
Maybe it would be best if the Government just stopped picking winners and losers and just got off everyone’s back.
Good take.
...and I doubt he really got red pilled, and even if he did, he will be one of the few.
While republicans and conservatives do appear to be much less open borders and more anti-ILLEGAL immigration, they aren’t offering to keep blacks and (legal) minorities on a pedestal the way democrats used to.
So there really is nothing for him to move toward. All it will take is for one democrat to start making promises for him to come back to the plantation.
Conservatives should promote a “Fix where you live” and expose the corruption/grift in DC!
Sadly once DC sends out checks, there is little interest in real improvement where you are. Like the proverbial frog in the pot, few will notice the decline in our standard of living.
This is where I’m at with this too. It’s great that blacks are making a ruckus over this in the big cities, but for the most part, it’s not because they’re staunch constitutional conservatives who believe in limited government, it’s simply because they’ve been on the gravy train so long, and now they’re getting kicked off of it.
That’s all democrat politics is going to boil down to; a bunch of different identity groups fighting over the scraps like dogs in an alley.
