LOL...........I wondered what was going on there, when I saw that thread building and building every day it seemed!

I liked Lord of the Rings, and I liked the animated movies made before the latest LOTR, however, I wouldn't say I have a "Hobbit Habbit" as many of you on this thread seem to (after reading some of the posts.hehe).....BUT I have nothing against it or this newfound thread for Hobbit fans. I wouldn't mind seeing a Star Trek thread start up.......hell maybe I'll do it myself. hehe

Anyway, just wanted to drop in and say that and have fun!

Welcome! Many of us HATE the animated movies that came before Peter Jackson's FoTR... But we welcome all friendly folk here, even those who defend defenseless ideas, eh Overtaxed?... hehehehe

You may find many closet Trekkies if you were to do a thread... who knows?... some of them are even more fanatical than us hobbitses.

I may be the only hardcore here who will say a kind word about the Bakshi version. I do think it was an earnest attempt, and I think there's a lot to like about it. A minority opinion here, but mine own.

Now, the RANKIN-BASS abominations are an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT MATTER....
