Thank you for this thread.

It is important to remember that the present-day concentration of CO2 in the Earth's atmosphere is an insignificant 0.03 percent, or 3 parts per million.

CO2 is an environmentally friendly greenhouse gas, as it is the main source of carbon for the plants the cattle eat, the trees the libs love to hug, and the seashells and corals that make tropical vacations so lovely.

I just read an article the other day. I don't recall the source, but it was reprinted in the Durham, NC Herald-Sun.

I don't remember all the fat, so I'll go directly to the core of the article. The junk science fairy tale, was about how horses etc., came to be on the continents of north and south America, when it is claimed that they evoluted into existance on the Asian continent. The story goes that some how, some way, without the help of SUV's or anything else for that matter, burning fossile fuel, (hell, those fossiles were still roaming the earth alive and well , with no idea they would someday melt into fuel) Global warming engulfed the earth without any human assistance whatsoever.

THanks to non-human abetted global warming, Horses, asses, camels, etc., began to migrate into far northern climes, that were becoming tropical paradices and in time crossed the land bridge across the Bering Sea and frolicked and multiplied all over the Americas. (nobody bothered to explain how the h*ll they got across the Panama Canal to populate South America)That fairy tales for ya.

All seriousness aside for a while though folks, let's take a closer look at that land bridge across the Bering Sea. Considering that global warming had melted all ice that ever existed on planet earth-wouldn't it stand to reason that all the oceans and seas would be much deeper than now, and any land bridge that may or may not have ever existed across the Bering sea, would have been under many fathoms of water. Horses legs are not long enough to have crossed and neither are their necks. Seems that the Americas should have been populated by Giraffes, who's necks could have kept their heads above water-or possibly by flying horses, decendents of Pegasus.

Disregarding the facts, the statement:
The answer is that countries like China, India and Mexico are exempt from making emission cuts, and China alone will become the world's leading emitter of carbon dioxide in just a few years.
is a justified reason for abandoning the Kyoto treaty.

This article is nice. Thanks for posting it. It's worth a bookmark.
