Fmr. US President Bill Clinton arrived in Brunei shortly after midnight from Thailand on a special jet on a private visit.
Mr. Clinton was greeted on arrival by Deputy Minister of Foriegn Affairs Pehin Hj Awang Ali.
Soon after arrival at the Brunei International Airport he was escorted in a motorcade led by Royal Brunei Police motorcycle outriders through the VIP gate.
After being warmly greeted on arrival at the Empire Hotel and Country Club, the former US President exclaimed that he was indeed glad to be back.
It is expected that the Brunei ruler will recieve the ex-President in audience at Istana Nurul Iman today.
Earlier, before his arrival, a large number of police personnel and Defence Ministry Officials were seen at the VIP gate of the Brunei International Airport shortly before midnight.
Sunday Bulletin learnt that ex-President Clinton was not the only VIP who arrived last night.
Others include a member of Bahrain royalty and a CEO of a Korean Gas Company who will be attending the Gasex 2000 conference
Back later after I do some digging.
Still digging...
The Gasex conference is devoting a lot of their time to the Kyoto accord. Also there are all sorts of opportunities to meet and greet.
Maybe he is just hanging around, hoping some spare change will fall his way. Maybe he is trying to get money for the dems.
I am mystified.
There has got to be a nefarious reason behind this..maybe I will do some Googling myself!
You are right, he's up to no good. That is a given. The only question is whether it is simply personal greed and lust or something dangerous to us all.
