Dear Mr. Robinson,
I have been a loyal member of the Free Republic since before the 2000 election. I have been a Conservative since the early days of Clinton. When I found this site, I thought "Thank God, people who think like me." I have continued to think this until the more recent days. Now, it seems that there are threads left and right bashing our President.
Why? There are things the President has done which I don't agree with but my loyality still lies with him. I am not sure if these "Bush-Bashers" fail to see the reality that with politics comes comprimise or it is something worse. I feel there is a cancer in the Free Republic. Some are eating their own.
I feel that some of these people are members of the dreaded democratic underground disguised as disgruntled conservatives. They are only here to stir up trouble. What's worse, they are doing just that. I am not sure what I think you should do.
As a conservative, I believe in our moral code but I also realize the reality of politics. I back our President but if he were doing something unsavory (like lying under oath,) I could not support him. This is unlike the left's clintonista dogma. What President Bush is doing is not betraying the conservative cause. He is using politics to confound the left. Those who do not understand this are either leftists themself or unable to separate themselves from their zealousness.
This is your show. You choose who gets to be a member and who does not. Those who break your rules are banished from the kingdom. I am not discouraging free speech, but this is free speech in your forum. These Bush-Bashers are brining us down. When this infighting happened in 1992, Bill Clinton got elected. let's not let that happen again.
Yours,
Big Guy and Rusty 99

People on this forum should be able to post thier opinion on any issue as long as it stays clean. There is absolutely no reason to get rid of 'Bush Bashers'. Wouldn't this forum be boring if there was never any dissent? Personally I don't think a forum would be any fun unless thier could be some level of argument.

Who should JimRob ban first?
I think I need to find some of that Kool Aid you're drinking.

Look. don't let them get to you. I for one am glad they are around. It gives us something to kill time with until more important things come about. Most of them are just inarticulate malcontents that allways see the horse manure and never the pony. Let them rant. They only prove the old adage that it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt..

I did essentially the same thing you have done with this on another thread yesterday. Here is Jim Robinson's reply to me on that thread:

Well, we're gonna take a lot of flak over the next several months, but I can guarantee you that when it comes election day, most of these people are going to vote for Republicans as their reps. No right thinking FReeper would ever sit it out and allow a Democrat to take office. And, in 2004, you can bet that we'll all be pulling for Bush over Gore, Daschle, Hillary, et al (well, all but one percent or so). Jim

That was enough for me! I appreciated his comments and made me even more determined to make sure the Bush Bashers do not take over this forum! We need to fight their bashing with facts which doesn't seem to be too hard to do. Truly believe a lot of them are infiltrators from the DemocRATS who pretend to be conservatives.
We need to expose these bashers for who they are and the Agendas they have!

yes, but these people are way out to lunch. I too enjoy intellectual jousting, however we are sometimes invaded by members of leftist newsgroups. This can not be allowed.

leftists pretending to be conservatives.

You hit on an important point -- stays clean! That is what has not been happening! A good debate never hurt anyone but recently some of the postings have been downright nasty -- been on the receiving end a time or two from people that call themselves members of the religious right! Go figure!

Some of the worst of them are suffering from diseased nodes in their brains - they have anarchist and/or druggietarian leanings and reflexively go into attack mode when the fever runs high. I prefer the "Jesse Jackson options" re them and their spewings: laugh at them, and then ignore them. What do they know about what's good and clean and decent and honest and fair and right? FReegards

What is your definition of Bush Bashing?
To: Zachary1985
Fingerprint & profile, darnit!

There are much easier, and more American, ways of getting the Bush-Bashers. If you disagree, post your disagreement -- or do like I do most of the time: grin ruefully at their post, shake your head, and move on down to the next post. Chances are it might be more to your liking. The first word in Free Republic is Free, it would be wrong to compromise that.
FReegards!

I agree that an invasion of leftist newsgroups is something that needs to be controlled. I don't think a forum where we are constantly slapping eachother on the backs and handing out high fives is any better than a forum swamped by liberals however.
Until we have proof that this is some massive liberal conspiracy, I think we should leave this issue alone.

Bush-Bashers do not wait for the facts to come out or try to find out the president's strategy, they just jump. Everyone bashed bush because of the Global Warming report, then they found out what it really meant. it is sort of like the media reporting that the Supreme Court came out in favor of Gore in Bush v. Gore until they read the actual decision.
To: Big Guy and Rusty 99
Disagree 100%.
This is a CONSERVATIVE forum, not a BUSH forum.
I voted for him in 2000. My vote in 2004 is up for grabs.
If he signs a freedom grab like the Patriot Act, I can't attack him? I'll attack him for his refusal to support armed pilots. I'll slam him for his CFR cave. I'll slam him for his vagueness. I'll praise him when he's right too, like his tax cut.
I call them as I see them. Period.

I'm sickened to the depths of my soul by the duplicity of George W. Bush. His father was a traitor to the Reagan Revolution and he himself cannot even spell the word.
He is a pol. A creation of Carl Rove and a man without a center. He will do anything for political expediency and is incapable of even following the lead of a man like Ronald Reagan. I doubt W could even recite to us a FEW of the great accomplishment of Reagan.
We are adrift as a nation, caught up in self destructive naval contemplation and "what did who know and when did they know it?" rather than aggresively prosecuting a real war on terrism. And why are we in this mess. Because we have no leader. We have an empty suit for a president.
