Anyone see CNN last night with Connie Chung? I was in the supermarket waiting in line and watching it close captioned, when she was talking about 9/11 and she had on a MUSLIM child to talk about how she loves America.
I noticed the last name of the child was Ghafarri or some other Islamic name.
Just made me ill.
Anyone else see it?

I am a bit confused as to why this would make you sick. For the past year we have justifiably been asking for Muslims to acknowledge that they are Americans first and apologize for the actions of September 11. We now have a child acknowledging that they are lucky to be an American. This seems positive to me.
I am not a supporter of the Muslim religion, but I do support the fact that our Constitution guarantees the right of Muslims to practice their religion, just as it guarantees my right to worship the one true God.
I am not one of those wimps that think we should hug all Muslims and "share their pain". I think that we should find all of those event remotely, knowingly, connected to terrorist groups and wipe them off the face of the earth in an extremly violent and painful manner.
A child is still reachable, and this one is either already brainwashed enough to know to lie, or is truly glad to be an American.
Please note: I did not see the interview, and my remarks are stated based on your description. I too would probably feel ill after the interview, but Connie Chung would be responsible for my illness.

That's one way to think of it.
I didn't think of it that way. I saw it as blatant liberal propaganda, something like the SF United Way's campaign here in SF, with photos of Muslims on the bus stops saying "I am not the enemy".
This was, imho, CNN/Chung's way of saying "love Muslims aren't they sooo nice?"
I don't buy it.

We now have a child acknowledging that they are lucky to be an American. This seems positive to me. I didn't see it last night, either, but that was my first thought.. "about time.."
I probably shouldn't speak for grlfrnd, but here goes. I'm not sure what bothered her was the fact that the child was Muslim or just another one of those "damned foreigners (Brits excluded of course.)

Luckily we do not have the propoganda machine working that hard out her in Sioux Falls. Once again, I don not support the muslim religion, but I would defend to the death their right to practice it. Just as I would defend the right of some goofball in Indiana to create a 1st church of the Teletubbies.

Here in SF (San Francisco) we've had Muslim celebration days. It makes me ill. Living in SF made me very NOT liberal in all ways....there's nothing like living in the belly of the beast to see their evil ways 24/7 and that's why I reacted like I did. I see what they're trying to do...again, jmho.

don't give anyone any ideas LOL

Some people just seem to be bothered at being forced to acknowledge that there are Muslims in this country who are patriots. There's been a lot of propaganda on both sides of this issue, and it's time we all admitted it.

I'd rather see a young Muslim girl speak kindly of her American home than see her pose for pictures with a bomb pack around her waist.

For the past year we have justifiably been asking for Muslims to acknowledge that they are Americans first and apologize for the actions of September 11. And for most of the past year, Muslims have celebrated our losses. They had a year to make their point of view known. They made very few attempts to explain why the terrorists didn't represent them and for the most part complained that Americans "looked at them funny" and "terrorized" them.
Now that its Sept again, we should be focused on our losses and the threat to our freedom. We can worry about how "sweet" Muslim kids are later.

Anything related to Connie Chung is a big "yuck."
