The Arrogance of an Ass (or: Ode to Tom Daschle)

He thought Liberty could be raped
And planned to give it a try
But Liberty’s eyes have opened
And they’re, - OPEN WIDE!
She’s grasped the would-be rapist
- And torched his under-side!

The votes have all been counted
The pollsters have gone home
Tom Daschle’s made his bed
In hell, - but he’s not alone
All around there is great weeping
And gnashing of the teeth
The democrats are still punch-drunk
- So stunned they cannot speak

Tom had his speech all ready
Till he spied “The Burning Bush”
So bent to kill his “ Mordecai”
He forgot “Haman’s” noose (Haman was hung on the gallows he built for Mordecai.)
But history will describe him (…See the Book of Ester in the Holy Bible)
As a nasty little man
But will record that George W. Bush
Was LOVED by most Americans

Still the democratic pack mules
Trudge up “King Clinton’s Pass”
Burdened with lots of baggage
Though there one thing they don’t lack:
Ever smug in their mule-ish pride,
- And the arrogance of an ass
