We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
The Pope has accepted the resignation of Cardinal Law.
Jimmah has offerred to negotiate a peace between Israel and the Palestinians, but only if the two groups and the United States ask him to.
The United States has characterized the Iraqi report as incomplete - saying it does not detail things America knows has gone on in their nuclear program, for example.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
LET'S ROLL!!!
Jimmah has offerred to negotiate a peace between Israel and the Palestinians, but only if the two groups and the United States ask him to.
Oh goody! Just what we need...this washed up old has been failed excuse for a president and statesman trying to negotiate a peace settlement. This is so pathetic. He's awarded a Noble Peace Prize, by an organization that has openly stated that the award was more a slap at President Bush than an honest honoring of anyhting that jimmah has accomplished, (which if memory serves me is - zip, zilch, zero, nada!) but this dottering old fool is now reading and beleiving the press releases about his "greatness". All I can say is....BARF!
Hey jimmah, it's time for your meds!
Tonight we get our real tree and will put it up tomorrow. My daughter is going to help, as I am not too keen on going up and down the stepladder any more (bad knee).
Well, today is when Sharpton is supposed to meet with Racicot, I think. That should be interesting.
Also, I sw the pictures of IRAN's nuclear installations on a thread last night. Not good.
You will be surprised at how much running you have to do for the school, I'll bet. I am looking forward to a report.
LOL!!! No offense taken!(as another yankee from WI who moved south!!!) Just goes to show that even us former yankee's know a great thing when we find it!
Best of luck on the house sale! Hope everything works in your favor!!!
As far as I can tell, it's cloudy and windy here this morning (It's dark when I get here!!!)
Headin' out in a few hours for the Panhandle of Fl to visit my brother for a few days and do some deer hunting and eat some Appalchacola oysters..yummm, yummm!(yes there are deer in FL!!!)
Looking forward to the break! (I'm not even taking the laptop so I won't be tempted to do any work, which I probably wouldn't any how, but at least I won't feel guilty now!)
I've got about 130 phone books in the back of my truck, hopefully not getting wet in the pouring rain. Another 300 sitting in our living room that should get delivered today. And then there's the 342 more at the warehouse to pick up and deliver by tomorrow. But my knees took a huge beating yesterday so not sure I'm up to this lousy task.
I was hoping to not have to go back to work today, but I think it's best if I do just to turn in my grades, clean out my desk, and pick up my paycheck. At least those 3-4 hours will be less time I'll have to spend in the rain delivering phone books.
I had a friend IM me this morning to remind me that Trent Lott's fraternity on the IU campus was predominantly a Jewish fraternity when we were in college.
I find this interesting and curious. Was it simply the local chapter, or was that the make-up of Sigma Nu at the time? Anyone who has anecdotal information of fraternities from the 50's and 60's would be most welcome to share.
The reason I ask this is I am trying to figure out if Sigma Nu deliberately started recruiting minorities or if Lott's chapter was an odd non-Jewish chapter of Sigma Nu. Back in the 50's and 60's certain fraternities and sororities were formed especially for minorities. There were also black fraternities and sororities when I was there in 1966-67.
AMERICAS WAR ON TERROR Day 459
The news as reported in The Washington Times:
[Note All links go to The Washington Times website.]
1. President Bush signed an Executive Order allowing religious institutions more access to Federal funds for their programs. Liberals decried the action, saying the President is circumventing the will of the Congress.
[Some of the hyperbole coming out of the left on this is positively fun to watch. Rep. Nadler saying we should be very afraid of what the President has done, for example.]
Bush rolls back 'secular' rules
2. President Bush sharply dressed down Senator Lott yesterday. The Criminal Party says it was too little, too late.
[They would have said that had the President made a two-hour speech moments after the words left Senator Lotts mouth. Their rhetoric rings hollow, because the question remains when will Senator Daschle rebuke Senator Byrd for his membership in the KKK?]
3. Gov-elect Ehrlich has stated he will introduce legislation to establish a Project Exile crime program, allow for charter schools, and enable opportunities for faith-based funding.
[This ought to be very interesting. A conservative (by Maryland standards) governor versus a liberal (even by Maryland standards) legislature. Let the games begin!]
Faith-based funding a top Ehrlich goal
4. North Korea announced it will bring a small plutonium reactor back on line, and build two new and bigger ones.
[Oh, wonderful.]
North Korea to restart nuke reactor
5. The smallpox vaccine debate contrasts those who argue it is needed for National defense versus those who are worried about the side effects of inoculation.
[Ok, let me see. If we inoculate 1,000,000 people, reports say the odds are 2 people will die. If we dont inoculate those 1,000,000 people and they all contract smallpox, reports say 333,333 will die, and another 333,333 will become disfigured and suffer life debilitating consequences. How can there be a debate on this? The anti-inoculation crowd would actually suggest that people die in a bio-terror attack when it can be avoided?]
Smallpox vaccinations pit safety against risks
6. The District is mulling over the idea of using video cameras to aid in watching neighborhoods.
[The protections the proposed law offers would seem to make it all right. For example, automated recognition techniques would not be allowed. So, essentially, this just becomes an electronic extension of the policemans eyes into the public areas of a neighborhood.]
Cameras mulled for neighborhood watch
7. PBS will show a documentary of the life of Muhammad in an attempt to dispel negative images about Islam.
[That wont help. What will help is the good folks in the Moslem community working hard and publicly to renounce and remove the evil elements in their midst.]
PBS show to 'counter' perceptions of Islam
We shall not rest until we have cut a swath 60-miles wide through the entire left - taking all that is before us with us as we go. We shall leave nothing to the enemy that may be of value to him. We shall show him that he may count on nothing and will be able to keep nothing, not his spirit, not his soul, not that upon which he shall feed. We shall not cease until the moment we have rent through their entire land and have arrived at the sea, with our glorious victory upon us.
