AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 740) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | January 30, 2003 | All of Us

Posted on 01/30/2003 4:28:36 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

This is a quick start this morning as I am getting ready to head on over to CPAC, but I will leave you with this thought - Fox News Channel had, for the State of the Union Address, the highest ratings in the network's history.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Being funded by Federal dollars, C-Span, in reality, should be "Fair and Balanced"

1. Most of President Bush's speeches, if aired, are shown very late at night, while they run multiples of Daschle, Kerry etc. during prime time.

2. They switch the scedules of conservatives all the time. They especially did this during the 2000 presidiential campaign, when we would all be waiting to see President Bush in a campaiign appearance, and then inexplicably we would get Gore or Lieberman. It happened multiple times.

3. They routinely feature anti-American demonstrations, but will not carry demonstrations in support of the President.

4. Their callers are weighted, as you said, in favor of the liberals. Plus, liberl, Bush-bashing callers get lots of time to talk, while Bush supporters are cut off.

I only watch C-SPAN when they are showing live coverage of a committee hearing or something. Otherwise, it makes my blood pressure go up.

C-SPAN, alas, is NOT funded by federal dollars. It is a public service funded by cable operators. My personal effort to get them to be fairer was to suggest to our cable company that they could be replaced by Fox.

Since the cable company wouldn't add Fox, I bought a satellite dish and shut off cable. I was quite happy to call them and tell them why I was discontinuing service. Ha!

Sounds like another thing that liberalism has ruined. C-Span seemed like such a great idea when it first came out.

Did that guy who started it (Brian Lamb?) give the operation of it over to someone else?

No, Lamb is still there. My theory is that he was either intimidated or blackmailed. (Of course, I am noticing I think that a lot...LOL!)

It was very strange, and the change began about 1999 or so. Lotsof people noticed it. The call-in change was supposedly to be "fair" during the election, but they never went back to the old way.

Also, I have called them and been SCREENED, which they didn't used to do, and told my call wasn't pertinent. So not only are the lines weighted, but the conservative calls are screened.

Sigh. I can't find anything in the garage. I want spring to show up (and me to be here for it) so I can clean my garage out. AND SORT MY BLOODY TOOLS!

and told my call wasn't pertinent.

And it wasn't. For the lefties that run C-SPAN. Their agenda is to suppress the conservative viewpoint.

Sorry about taking so long to respond, I got a little side-tracked.

OK, questions first:
What version of Windows?
How long has this been going on?
Is there only one PC or are you networking others?
If you are networking others is it wireless?
Who is your DSL Provider?

That should get me started.

I'm basing it on when I flip the channels by. It seems that they are always showing reruns of x42 speaking somewhere, the dems caucuses and groups speeches, etc. I literally NEVER see Ari Fleischer and his press briefings, rarely President Bush and his speeches. It has been shown that C-Span covered x42's speeches, all of them in various cities. Now, they can't be bothered with President Bush unless he is in Washington, DC. Their excuse is that they don't have the capabilities to go on the road, but that was proven false by all the coverage of x42 when he was in power while prez.

OTOH, C-Span does show the Senate and Congress sessions in their entirety. The SOTU was shown on C-Span without irritating commentary. I think that cable companies are obligated to carry C-Span, so no matter what package you receive, you will get C-Span. And I do like Book TV, which is C-Span2 on the weekends. Lots of interviews with non-fiction authors.

So some of my complaints may just be perception, but I don't think so. I finally wrote to C-Span to complain, they were showing Daschle's press conferences 3 and 4 times a day (while he was the illegal majority leader), and would never run the press conferences more than once, and would cut away a lot.

C-Span is definitely not a reason to get any sort of cable or dish package I have concluded from your comments. Seems there's really not much reason to get it.

At dinnertime we discussed it and the only one who really wants to go for it is my oldest daughter who says she's the only one in her class who doesn't get cable. But she's also about the best read kid in her class, I'm sure.

Another reason just came to me. Bill O'Reilly comes on at 10 PM here on the radio station we listen to most of the day. I CAN NOT STAND BILL O'REILLY! When he comes on, the radio gets turned off or switched to another station. If we had Fox News, there would be at least one hour I would never want to watch it.

LOL! I don't like O'Reilly much, myself. He is starting to remind me of a blowhard uncle who seems to show up at every family reunion and annoys everyone. He does do well at going after Jesse Jackson, though.

Fox is my channel during the day. In the evenings my husband usually watches The History Channel. Since you will be gone during the day once your job situation is ironed out, it probably wouldn't be worth the investment, since the evening shows are opinion shows, not news (until the war starts).

I do wish I could pay a small fee just to get Fox News, especially when there is real news on.

I'm disappointed in the radio stations in our area. There is one AM station in Nashville that is OK, but the signal isn't clear on most radios.
