Are the thicksy chicks disappointed at the diplomatic efforts of the president? In case they missed it, we haven't attacked Iraq yet.

I have written my local stations and asked them to stop playing Dixie Blix:
To whom it may concern:
What is KWJJ's position on the remarks made by the Dixie Chicks?
I do not want to support these brain dead money grubbers, so I would like to know if you are going to continue to play Dixie Chicks.
I know they have a right to speak. I have a right to speak as well and I am speaking with my listener ship and money.
These girls have no clue what they are talking about and merely used the situation for publicity and attention while in Europe.
Please instead play more Clint Black, Darryl Worley and Charlie Daniels Band.
Thank you
Keath Huff

Have You Forgotten
Darryl Worley
Written by Darryl Worley and Wynn Varble
I hear people saying we don't need this war
I say there's some things worth fighting for
What about our freedom and this piece of ground?
We didn't get to keep 'em by backing down
They say we don't realize the mess we're getting in
Before you start preaching
Let me ask you this my friend
CHORUS 1
Have you forgotten how it felt that day
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away?
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside
Going through a living hell
And you say we shouldn't worry 'bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?
They took all the footage off my T.V.
Said it's too disturbing for you and me
It'll just breed anger that's what the experts say
If it was up to me I'd show it every day
Some say this country's just out looking for a fight
After 9/11 man I'd have to say that's right
CHORUS 1
Have you forgotten how it felt that day
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away?
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside
Going through a living hell
And you say we shouldn't worry 'bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?
I've been there with the soldiers
Who've gone away to war
And you can bet they remember
Just what they're fighting for
CHORUS 2
Have you forgotten all the people killed?
Some went down like heroes in that Pennsylvania field
Have you forgotten about our Pentagon?
All the loved ones that we lost
And those left to carry on
And we vowed to get the ones behind Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?
Have you forgotten?
Have you forgotten?

Don Imus really ripped into them this morning.
He was one of their early supporters, gave them a lot of publicity.
They won't like the airtime he gave them this morning.

The Dixie Chick in question, Natalie Maines aka Natalie Louise MainesTarabay Pasdar is married to Adrian Pasdar. He is 9 years younger than her and is the son of HOMAYOON PASDAR Born in Tehran, Iran. Who is a cardiothoracic surgeon at a hospital in Philadelphia, PA's western surburbs.
See here.
Maybe the deal here is that this Dixie Chick is married to a Muslim? That's what I thought. Because her father-in-law is from Iran? Maybe he is but opensecrets.org shows her father in law as a Republican:
Contributor Occupation Date Amount Recipient PASDAR, HOMAYOON DREXEL HILL, PA 19026 PHYSICIAN 11/7/1996 $200 National Republican Congressional Cmte
PASDAR, HOMAYOON MEDIA, PA 19063 THE GLOVER CLINIC 9/30/1994 $250 Haytaian, Garabed "Chuck"
So, I suppose her views are based somewhat on what her husband and in-laws think?
Interesting?
To: isthisnickcool
VERY interesting.....But I think her views are based on the fact that she's ALWAYS been a rebellious teenager and never outgrew it.....I frankly don't think she's too smart, and she's obsessed with Sheryl Crow and being different....one of those that will say "black" when you say "white" just to argue.

Does this woman read the polls?!?! 6-10 americans are behind the President and an equal number think that the UN is mismaging the Iraq crisis something fierce. The Dixie Chicks Audience is probably more like 8/10 or 9/10 in favor of ousting Saddam no matter what. They got so completely caught up in the anti-Americanism that seems to be running rampant in Europe that they forgot who they were. They will be reminded when no one shows up for the concerts that they have already sold out. Imagine what a statement that would make. People had already PAID for the tickets (and apparantly refunds are not an option), yet still didn't show up for the concert.

As Imus said: "Why don't you make that same statement at your next concert in Austin?"
They probably would there...isnt Austin very liberal? Thats why the Chicks moved there...and a lot of the liberal country artists live there.....Nashville wouldnt tolerate that stuff

I hope you are right.....but the Dixie Chicks are unusual in country music as they have a lot of non-country fans
To non-country fans, they are kinda like their "only country group I like" and the BS line "I like country..I like the Dixie Chicks"
Their audience is probably more liberal than most country artists. Some people like their aggressiveness and their psuedo-lesbianism (although they are all married...they kinda act a little dyke-like)
They have also made some other poor comments before... Natalie dissing Toby Keith for his "Angry American' song (which Toby hasnt forgotten...check out his interview on www.cmt.com ......the song they bashed was a dedication for his late father..an Army vet)
And, they made a really off-color comment about Kenny Chesney.....while at a bar playing a trivia game....the Chicks named their team "Kenny Chesney Stuffs His Pants With A Pimento Cheese Sandwich"...reference to Chesney supposedly trying to artificially endow himself
Running their mouths..especially Natalie Maines...is a habit for the Vichy Chicks (LOL...great name!)
