VANITY: Failed war predictions

Hi all, I'm sort of putting together a list of "Predictions that Didn't Pan Out" on the Iraq war. This was inspired by this morning's local news... reporting the "shocking" news that gasoline prices had come down "in spite of the war."

It let me to recall the dire predictions of $5/gallon gas in the U.S. (even outside of California). Accordingly, I wanted to put together a sort of "here's what you said last time" list for when leftist friends/family members begin bleating.

Can anyone contribute other incorrect "predictions" that were made about the war? "Quagmire" is the obvious front runner, as well as "They will unleash terrorist hell on U.S. cities."

I'm looking for more obscure predictions that have turned out to be obviously wrong. Thanks!
