That brings up an interesting point- If it had been castration using rubberbands, would it still be illegal? (obviously less bloody) Would we then need a license to buy and use rubberbands??

Rubber bands occasionally results in gangreen, which then result in manslaughter charges I imagine. I've never seen them used on anything bur cattle and sheep.
