Thinking out loud

I've heard so much on the news about the evidence for WMDs which was the reason for the war is shaky.

I'd hate to think that I was lied to. I've been all for President Bush in whatever he's done. But if it comes out that there was really no evidence and that we've been lied to, I'll be VERY P.O.'ed.

Quite often I suspect that Sean Hannity looks into FR all the time. I will see something here and then hear him use the very same language and terms on the air. I don't know if he posts but I do suspect he lurks.

I am like Daschle, 'deeply saddened' that some of our Freepers are falling for this notion that Dubya might have lied about WMD. This will be the main topic of every talk show this morning. Talk about piling on.

It is stunning to think that anyone would believe that Bush would jepordize lives in the military to score political points. If they really know who Goerge Bush is they wouldn't think that way at all. This man has too much respect for the military, and for life in general to even consider such a possibility.

Certainly Clinton has done much to damage the credibility of the office of the Presidency. This is the legacy he has left, and it will take someone like George W. Bush to turn this mess around.

The Democrats making the charges that Bush lied have shamed themselves into licking Clinton's shoes, and defending all the garbage he has heaped upon the American people, that nothing they say anymore will be credible to me. Nothing!

This is something that will fade soon, but until then be assured that if Dubya was trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes he would never have allowed the journalists and reporters to embed with the troops.

The information some of the critics are saying wasn't good is also nonsense. The genius of the war plan indicates the opposite. They hit Saddam's means of communication so effectively that he was unable from the first minutes of the war to communicate with any of his fighting units, making him like a blind man groping around in the dark.

We also know that this win not only liberates the Iraqi people from an oppessive tyrant, it also gives foreign policy from here on out more teeth.

The ineffective, comtemptible foreign policy from the Clinton Administration will be but a blot on the landscape before too long.

Regarding WMDs, Iraq had an obligation under the previous treaty to prove that they didn't have any WMDs. They failed to do so and were therefore in violation. They also promised not to have certain kinds of rockets, and they actually fired those rockets during the war. Iraq is a big country, and they had many months during which they pretty much knew that we were coming someday and would likely win. Rather than use weapons that couldn't save them, they played a PR game and quietly destroyed them. They likely hid the stuff needed to restart the program in the event that we didn't overthrow their regime.

Iraq was a friend of Al Qaeda. If we are going to win the war against terrorism, we must attack the terrorists and their friends at every good opportunity. We must keep attacking and killing them until they are all dead or until they surrender. Even if there had never been WMDs, attacking an ally of Al Qaeda was a good policy. We showed those worthless losers that being our enemy is a dangerous thing.

As we discover more mass graves of people killed in the Iraqi holocaust, it amazes me that people are still harping so much about the WMDs. I sometimes think that if FDR had been a conservative, these people would have stood in the ashes of the concentration camps and questioned whether we were right to defeat Hitler. We did the right thing in putting the former Iraqi regime out of power. We destroyed a madman's power base, somewhat avenged many who had died, and saved many who would have been killed in the future.

We did the right thing. All of this questioning is ridiculous.

You know something, you're absolutely right. Maybe I wrote my initial post out of frustration more than anything.

I saw that letter Democrats wrote to Clinton, AND I saw Clinton's comments on Iraq's WMDs.

I am ABSOLUTELY CONVINCED we did the right thing. The people of Iraq and the world are better off.

But please everyone....DON'T jump on someone just because they ask questions. That's mean-spirited.
