Good for you on the homework! Didn't take near as long as you thought. Did you have the ice cream? I don't have any but you made me want some. I bought some cookie dough from a kid at church so I ate cookie dough instead!

Howdy! Made it home about 7:30, dog tired! But it was a fun weekend. The weather was just gorgeous;sunny and about 80 each day. I got a sunburn on my face today when we forgot to move the tent thingy over as the sun moved!
Met a lot of new folks who worked with me at the Grille. A couple of them didn't even have kids in the school, but Fr. Dennis roped them into working! LOL! Heck WE don't even have kids in the school anymore, but I still enjoy doing it. It's a lot of work; I was there from 3:30 to 10:30 Friday night, 11:30am to 9:30 last night, and noon to 7:30 tonight. But it's only once a year, so that's what makes it fun. If I had to do that several times a year, it would be NOT fun!
How was your weekend?

I've always had this thought in the back of my mind that when the kids were gone I could devote myself to a couple of nice old muscle cars. We will see if this works out. I'm thinking it's a great plan!

My weekend has been pretty good. Yesterday the rally and today just puttering around the house. Cooked for myself for the next few days and pampered myself with hair conditioning and a pedicure! LOL girly stuff. :-)

Yup, had the ice cream. Got through the homework at a near-record pace. I ought to study something but I just can't. My head hurts. I need a nice new book. Or a nice old book. I don't really care which.

I've always had this thought in the back of my mind that when the kids were gone I could devote myself to a couple of nice old muscle cars. We will see if this works out. I'm thinking it's a great plan! You should come to the Detroit Dream Cruise, held in August. This year, it was held the day after the Great Blackout. Only a million people from all over the country showed up, rather than two million. It's like Cycle Week in Daytona, but with mostly middle-aged yuppies as participants. Everything from the 20s to rare modern stuff.
A buddy would have run his 1965 Cobra kit-car, if it wasn't for the power failure. The body was made by Shelby, so it could be titled as a real Cobra, and not just a kit car. He spent five years in building it, including safety-wiring every single fastener on it. He had to wait two years for a 427 from Holloman & Moody. They're now a couple of old good ol' boys, and they build and ship an engine when they feel like it.
He wound up with a college degree in Cobras, and knows all about the different types of transmissions, radiators, etc. and what's correct and what isn't for each model year.

Wow! That would be incredible. I would love to see your buddy's car! And hear about the building of it. Sounds like a cool guy to hang out with for an afternoon. Does he drive this darlin' or just show it?

Check out this photo Darksheare. This is my prayer partner, taken the year I was born. This photo hangs on the wall in my den - love it!
PS. She don't really look any older than my age now. You wouldn't know she was grown when I was born - either by her looks or the way she acts! We are truly sisters in the wind - and in Christ!

I'd look kinda funny myself, even on a more modern Hog.
Being 5'5" tall and a flyweight makes for an amusing sight to see on a motorcycle.
(That, and I like them, I just can't 'drive' them myself.)
I just don't have the look for one either..
I look more natural behind the wheel of a VW, unfortunately.
(HMMWV fit well too, but the civilian version isn't as fun. Besides, you have to worry about the paintjob then as well..)

Looks like she has a sense of humor that runs towards the 'weird' side.
The bike looks fairly clean linewise, and it doesn't have those awful saddlebags that usually got stuck on them back then!
Thanks!

I dunno. I know a lot of guys your height who ride. The dyna frames seem to fit particularly well. But, one of my best friends is your height and so ridiculously skinny he makes me feel like a huge hippo just standing next to him and he rides one of them big Ultras.

Looks like she has a sense of humor that runs towards the 'weird' side. Yes, she is and has been something else! A lovely Christian prayer warrior. I am blessed to have her in my life. Not a whole lot of ladies in the church who actually want to have much to do with the likes of us! But we two are an awesome team!

Once I weighed in at 135 on my frame.
Then I got mono.
My weight dropped like a ROCK, and hasn't recovered since.
(1997.)
Something I DO have to do is learn to ride one.
There is a world of difference between flying low and fast like a bullet on a YZ and burning the gears out because the clutch died, wiping out on a pedal bike ala the opener for the 6 Million Dollar Man, and actually riding.
Well, gonna shutdown and attempt to sleep.
Hopefully I won't have dreams pplagued by the ghosts of friends long gone, songs that don't exist, OR surreal images of places and things that I've never been to or seen.
