The Hobbit Hole IV – The Road Goes Ever On…
Posted on 08/04/2003 9:43:18 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
The Road Goes Ever On
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Is Civ III goodI'm enjoying it, but I don't think I quite have the hang of it yet. I'm going to have to buy a strategy book (or at least speed-read one at the computer store) to get everything figured out. While I usually win, my score is usually pretty low, and I almost never get advanced enough to learn any of the "future" technologies...

Are there any MO towns with easy access to Stillwell, like Belton, Raymore, or Peculiar?Duhhhh....I dunno but 'Peculiar' sounds promising. :)
I got the strangest look from one of these KS folk whe I suggested that I just throw some yeast, sugar, and a water seal on some grape juice. Awww c'mon....we're all chemists here!

It's hard. It really is, because we can't really discipline them...we're just substitutes and we really don't have the right. The most we could do is that "time out" crap (pardon me). I find it humiliates them and makes them more defiant. I find it easier to just firmly redirect them, constantly if needed.

"NO!"

Oh, before I go. In LXG, is the Sean Connery charcter someone I should know? Or did they create him for the film? I figgered everyone else out.
g'nite again.

I couldn't take that... even my kids'd tell yuh... I'd start layin' about smartly with a 2x4 with a big nail or a broken bottle...I'd go high-tech. Start out with one of those mini-cattle-prods with weak batteries, and move up from there. A quick ZOT should be all that's needed.

How about those shock collars, like they make for dogs? Remote control punishment. Zot them from afar.
Or is that what you meant?
To: Corin Stormhands
Good night Corin! Catch up on your rest!

Sean Connery played Allan Quatermain, the hero of the H. Rider Haggard novels of the 19th and early 20th centuries, most notably "King Solomon's Mines" (and about 15 others).

How about those shock collars, like they make for dogs? Remote control punishment. Zot them from afar. While technologically feasible, you'd have to get the little brats to keep the collars on. A low-tech approach might be a super-soaker. At least it gets cats to pay attention.

G'nad: showed up here real good. :-) The "brand new" is typically prefaced with a "purtaneer" you may be missing that.
Corin; welcome home, you've been missed. Now start posting, the elves are ahead.
Rosie; great night light
And with that Good Night All.
To: HairOfTheDog
Good night, Hair! I enjoyed it too!
