The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,

Until it joins some larger way

I was the Mom that anxiously awaited them to come home from school so we could build fires in the back yard and cook stuff on rocks and sticks!

LOL, Well, I love baking cookies. I bake them a lot, and we don't eat them. I'm not much for sweets. And the guys eat a few and then leave them, unless they're chocolate chip. I end up bringing them to work or something, and the guys here make quick work of them.

Steve's birthday tomorrow. The old dwarf is gonna be 42!

Here is what I'm making...

Coca-Cola Cake & Frosting
Ingredients:
2 C Sifted all-purpose flour
1-½ t Baking soda
1 t Salt
1-1/3 C Sugar
½ C Cocoa
½ C Shortening
2/3 C Buttermilk
2/3 C Coca-Cola
1 Egg
2 Egg yolks
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour two 9-inch cake pans.

Into large electric mixer bowl, sift together the sifted flour, baking soda, salt, sugar and cocoa. At low speed, add the shortening, buttermilk and Coca-Cola, and mix for 2 minutes, scraping sides of bowl as needed.

Add the egg and egg yolks, and continue to beat for 2 minutes.

Pour batter into prepared cake pans. Bake at 350°F for 30 to 35 minutes, or until cake tester comes out clean.

Frosting:

1/2 c Butter
3 tb Cocoa
6 tb Coca-Cola Classic (Regular)
1 ts Vanilla Extract
1 c Pecans
2 c Convectioners' Sugar

Bring the butter, cocoa, and Coca-Cola to a boil and pour over the
confectioners' sugar, blending well. Add the vanilla and pecans,
mixing well, and pour over the hot cake.

Ya'll have gone well over my little head. I was there until the Queen Mother? and a curl of butter? (they do rhyme, but not with kilt?)
