Look at the top of the linked page... The Google web crawler went through that page on Sept 30th, so "yesterday" was September 29th. Easy to get confused by that "yesterday."

Geez, this is a very convoluted story to sift through...

Mr. Edmunds posted about it on the Pages website at 2:12pm which means if he was in Oklahoma he posted 6 minutes after ABC's article was posted on the internet. Now what are the chances that was just a coincidence???

WOW! Tha's almost as quick as MD4Bush (another 'RAT dirty trick last year in MD) posted his stuff on FR after that "scandal" hit the newspaper.

I figure the owner shut it down very soon after the firestorm, for various reasons, including all of the personal details I was able to find (such as names, emails, AIM etc). Would have been reporters going after those kids like reporters do - a lot of what I've read is actually very endearing. Many/most of them seem like great kids, trying to help each other out. Often very mature & polite.

That's new isn't it? That Jordan posted about the scandal 6 minutes after ABC posted it. Wow. I don't know how I stumbled on it, I didn't notice it the other day when I was searching. PS - Mathew Loriditch had something hacked and/or and people posted his name all over the place after he appeared on the news.

Trying to make sense of this. The "victim" page in the IMs posted on the page website just minutes after the scandal hit? What did he post? Can we see this post somehow?

I was answering someone on another thread about how Istook was mad at my Congressman for losing his Chairmanship of a subcommittee and then it hit me that he was furious with Hastert as well. Earlier I had posted what his campaign manager for his Congressional races and now current consultant to his Governor's race had posted on a website he ran for Istook about Hastert being forced to resign. This is another name in addition to what we already have.

Ok, you say that you knew Foley had an inappropriate relationship or whatever, but it you did not know of the severity of the problem. Please. What did you do?

So you knew that a Member of Congress was too friendly with a page, likely a 15-17 year old child who came to DC to get to know the process better and understand government and how it works. WHAT DID YOU DO? DID YOU DO ANYTHING.

I am mad, ****ed off, and offended that you did not lift one freaking finger to stop and make sure Foley never preyed on another child again.

Fellow Republicans - yes I question the timing, however that is a red herring and a tangent that does not matter to me. Children who come to the Capitol to work should not have to worry about getting hit on by a Member of Congress. Some Members have said they want to get rid of the pages ---- hold the***** phone - we should get rid of all Members of Congress who prey on children.

I don't care he is an alcoholic - I don't care he is gay - I don't care he was abused as a child. Yes that is sad, but plenty of people were abused and plenty of people are homosexual that do not prey on children. I saw a news report that said other Members of Congress are waiting to determine whether or not to call for his resignation. If this were a Democrat and it was a boy, or the roles were reversed, I am sure they would not put their finger in the air and determine what to do.

I have called and his DC and Illinois office and left a message to resign. Please join me.

It sickens me that somewhere some political calculus was performed and someone figured they could hopefully wait it out and get through the election, then have a special election and not spend the additional money of an open seat 5 weeks before an election. Is power worth one child being preyed upon by a Member of Congress. Denny, you should have known better, shame on you.

HOLD ON!! Is ABC's account of the initial milder emails to the kid in LA in conflict with what they've said in the past 24 hours about when/how they learned of the more graphic IMs?

I'm going to have to review all the details on many threads because I think I just saw a huge inconsistency in ABC's claims about what they knew and when..... (but there are so many balls in the air I might be the one mixed up). I thought that ABC's VP of something just said that they never saw the really nasty IMs until after they published their article on the emails to the 16-17 yr. old page in Louisiana..... yet THIS article (which seems tob e the first one??) has the quote "sick sick sick sick...." (though there are not nearly as many sicks as appeared in later articles!!).

IIRC, the "sick sick sick 12-13 sicks" came from a comment on the IMs (which were indeed very graphic), and NOT to the original emails to a DIFFERENT page which were pretty mild (how can you say "sick sick sick....." to the initial emails unless you already know there's a lot more graphic stuff behind them? If this thread has the original ABC article about the more innocuous ("overly friendly") but non-explicit emails, didn't ABC just claim today that they never saw the nasty IMs until more pages got in touch with them about the first email article???

The young man forwarded that e-mail to a congressional staffer saying it was "sick sick sick sick sick."

So much for blaming that on the Democrats. These folks are so desperate, and each time they search for a way out, it keeps blowing back on them. (The Hill):

That aide has been a registered Republican since becoming eligible to vote, said the source, who showed The Hill public records supporting his claim.

The same source, who acted as an intermediary between the aide-turned-whistleblower and several news outlets, says the person who shared the documents is no longer employed in the House. But the whistleblower was a paid GOP staffer when the documents were first given to the media.

The mysterious intermediary "source" and also the suppose "GOP staffer" both need to come clean with the public and then their motives and behavior can be assessed. Contrary to this idiot writer, it does not mean squat that some anonymous "GOP staffer" MIGHT have played such a role (if this account can even be believed). Plenty of RINOs and even more fake-GOP types could want to shift the Congress to the 'Rats so that they can get back to their happy days of 'Rat-RINO congeniality and liberalism that is soooo threatened by evil conservatives. This writer for "The Hill" truly is an imbecile and is just spewing propaganda for the 'Rats who must be running scared to have made this detailed overture to "The Hill"..... it doesn't mean squat that an anonymous "source" (who is most certainly a 'Rat or else THEY would have been characterized as a Republican as well) shows evidence of receiving some of the materials from a supposed "Republican" (though the reader can't judge and has to rely upon the assurance of the Mickey Mouse reporter). Even if the transmission described in the article is accurate (big IF) that doesn't mean that anonymous RINO was not played like a fiddle by the 'Rats..... or that said "GOP staffer" now promptly departed from his/her position was the first, main, or only point of transmission on this...... but the 'Rats must be nervous to be trying to put out the fires this way.
