It sounds to me as if everybody was working hard for the cause and there was a family food fight. Sometimes that happens. It's the dynamics of families and groups.

As far as I can see, there's no way the Moderators are going to be perfect. Nothing's perfect in this world. But it's a lot better having Moderators than to have enemies come in and post multiple messages until the bandwidth is all used up and the server goes down, which happened in earlier days whenever the Robinsons turned their backs or left town for a Freeper meeting.

Are the people who run the servers reading the mail? Who cares? The only thing I care about is that the identity of posters is kept from government spies and similar people, and as far as I know that has always been done. Needless to say that was especially true in the clinton years, when you could end up audited by the IRS or even wearing cement overshoes.

FR is the second "message board community" that I have been a part of. Both forums have experienced the same exact problems with moderators and the general "it was sooo much better in the olden days" crud.

That seems to be the nature of the beast. If people can't deal with it, they ought to go find another playground.
