I was wondering about the US. Why aren't people (from anyplace) allowed in if they are about to be murdered for political reasons in their own country? What are the US rules for getting political asylum?

I wonder that myself. My politics state that all infidels (this means you) must be killed by the most horrendus means possible. My politics state that you, as a woman, must succumb to my every whim, even if it means your death. My politics also state that you must deny your god and worship mine or you will be killed, or at least, shunned. Please accept me into your country so that I may continue to spread my political view to your children, who must also be killed for being infidels. I fear my own country may not tollerate my political views much longer.
Regards,
Osama

I would think congress would propose emergency legislation to expedite at least temp. visas if genocide occurred in S.A., but let's hope cooler heads prevail down there. The US can dangle the massive aid carrot if they don't slaughter each other. Maybe our ambassador has already mentioned this...if so, hope they listened and paid attention.
