Regarding the Internet rumors, no member of Freeman's staff made any derogatory or discriminating comments towards Jenna or Barbara Bush. We are a non-partisan establishment and pride ourselves on having a diverse clientele. The Bush twins or any member of the first family are welcome to join us for dinner anytime.

The Scene
Down a dark, shadowy alley just off Bowery, the handsome, scruffy-faced men and understatedly glamorous women of the Lower East Side gather to drink wine, crowding around antique wood tables. Worn plank floors and painted cement walls fit with moose, elk and other assorted taxidermy, giving the place a quirky edge, as do the tattoed, waifish servers who are also professional and expedient.

"Quirky edge"?. If the reviewer ran into the exact same decor 150 miles north of the city he would have sneered and dismissed.

That aside, if this really happened it shows perfectly how small and hate filled the left has become. I mean these impulses are the impulses of people who HATE, brainlessly, without reason or focus.

A lot of you just don't get it.

The Bush twins are desperately trying to be cool. This is why Jenna interned at a Hollywood management firm, partied with Ashton Kutcher, and they both hit the hippest places in Manhattan several times a year: Bungalow 8, Suite 16, Carbon, the list goes on and on...

As most of these places cater to liberals, it is well within expectation that they would get denied at some point.

I'm sure they've brushed it off - and will try another place tonight or tomorrow.

Probably En. They so do love it here...

"I think you are on to something there."

this is the way new yorkers think. They will say anything to sell you something. I don't think this is true, at least until I see something other than a short story on gawker.

.

legal: well i guess i mean illegal but you wont get caught. for the manhattanites: you and seven of your friends divide into two groups of two and six. go to and eat up at freemans. after you get the checks.. secretly trade them. the party of six leaves and pays the tab of the party of two. then the party of two leaves next refusing of course to pay for the incorrect bill. follow that?

Four solid weeks of calling and making no-show reservations would be even better.

you're exactly right .... people under SS protection don't just amble into any old restaurant without a sweep beforehand. Just doesn't happen.

So, what did he say, did he say he regretted it, was happy about it? 7+ minutes is a long time!

NYers earn their reputation of being graceless classless dirtbags.

As a New Yorker, I'm trying to find a way to disagree with you...sigh! Well, we're all not.

"Close to half of all new restaurants fail in their first year of operation; 65 percent bite the dust within two years."

Think this all might be a frankly brilliant marketing ploy given the thought disorders so prevalent for so many years in "Moscow-on-the-Hudson"! But it still won't work, in all likelihood, just hold off the inevitable implosion for a few months longer.

BTW, I'd think it absolutely nuts for any major-league Republican to go dine with the 'rats right now, they're still licking their wounds! If they don't diss you like the twins, they'll probably p!$$ in your soup!

Sounds like an urban legend in the making to me. I hope the Dems black little hearts are warmed by fake little stories like these, because that's all they are going to have for the next 20 years or so to warm themselves with.

And we also enjoy our free speech rights to respond when "innocents" are offended.

When you find the 'innocents' let us know because the party-hardy Bush girls are far from it.

I didn't mean to impune the real Americans in NY....

But you did vote for her heinous after mr. grifter pardoned terrorists.

You see the rest of the country as somehow less honorable than you all.

"It's been confirmed...see post #238."

Again, I think it's a publicity stunt. I live in the neighborhood and I really can't see a restaurant full of people cheering like this. For one thing, any restaurant here is going to be way too noisy for people to hear a maitre de making catty remarks and if he did make the remark, people would probably groan if they heard it. I assume it is a fairly new restaurant that came up with a gimmick to get free press, especially if this hits the MSM. Nothing sells like scandal.

Best part of NYC is the whining that followed the repub convention.

They complained that no one came to Broadway.

This after they announced publicly that they wanted to shut down during the convention because they hated the republicans.

Then there was complaining about no one going to the restaurants either. Of course, they welcomed the dirty scruffy protesters who bought nothing and cost the city millions.

I say.....good! You wanted to be rude and unwelcoming and you paid the price.

I don't care how noisy the restaurant is. If the President's daughters and SS walk in the door, everyone in the restaurant is going to know.
