These attempts to reconcile evolution with Biblical Christianity are nothing but self deceit. I used to be a dedicated evolutionist. Thank God, the Lord opened my eyes to the truth! That was more than 30 years ago. I will never return to the blindness of evolution again.

I am not an Evo-Reactionary but I do have a question about your statement. The Bible is full of allegory. When Jesus said "I am the Vines" it was not meant to be taken literally (it does not mean you can harvest grapes off of JC) - it is allegory, analogy.

How do we know what parts of the Bible are allegory and what parts are to be taken literally? God did not provide us with a secret decoder ring.

If you believe the Bible was inspired by God (but not dictated) then the man that actually wrote the Bible would have to put it in terms he was familiar with. Genesis could easily be merely a man's interpretation of what God revealed - in terms the man understood - therefore it is possible Genesis is not a literal textbook of how the world was created - it could be allegory and if that is the case their is no real problem reconciling evolution with Biblical Christianity.

I am not claiming to have the answers on the topic - I just think there is no way to determine which parts of the Bible are to be taken literally (clearly not all of it) and which is allegory.

Good question.

My response would be that God has no problem presenting His Word to people in a clear an easy to understand medium.

God has no interest in confusing mankind as to what things He say are allegory or literal. Even a child can understand God. Nobody needs a decoder ring.

So IMHO the real problem when it comes to interpreting the Bible is unbelief.

I too am a recovering darwinist. His imaginary world could be compatible with christianity...if it were true.
