Foreign Secretary Luis Ernesto Derbez said in a radio interview that an international strategy would be used if other attempts to reverse Arizona's Proposition 200 fail.
In other words, the equivalent of the U.S. secretary of state is advocating meddling in the internal affairs not only of our country, but one of our 50 independent, sovereign states.
Mexican officials have repeatedly complained about Proposition 200, which went into effect last week. The statewide measure denies most taxpayer benefits to illegal aliens and requires state workers to report applicants for such benefits who may not be eligible. It also requires anyone registering to vote in the state to show proof of citizenship and bring a government-issued ID to the polling place.

The Mexican State is dangerous to the United States. It is a breeding ground for crime, for hordes of undesireables flooding into the US but not really under our control, and for revolution.
And the Indians in Chiapas are converting to Islam.
This is not something that the Border Patrol, however augumented, can or should deal with.
The choices are 1) Do nothing (the Bush doctrine); 2) Occupy the zone 50 miles deep along the border and kill anything that moves in it (a Military Frontier, with sympatico Mexicans in the role of Croats), 3) Conquer, annex, and civilize the whole place.
Or 4), known as The Laz Option: Hit every city with nuclear weapons, nerve gas the survivors, then apply defoliant to the remaining vegetation.
I want a Martian Landscape on our Southern border.
My sentiments exactly!
Mexicans crossing the border with the USA by the millions says volumes about how wonderful the USA is and how utterly deplorable life must be in mexico.
I hope this is humor. All of these options are insane. If you don't want to have roaches in your kitchen, don't leave any food out. If you shut down the free ride for illegals in this country they will stay home.
Did Mexico send troops to Iraq? What have they done for us that we should owe them so much?
Or maybe.... YOU JUST DON'T SEE HOW SANE IT IS!!!!!!!
"With ball ammunition..lock and load...!"
We already have conquered, annexed, and civilized the whole northern half of Mexico.
The sponge mob.
Here is a reproduced posting from another thread I made back on January 10th:
The "Requonquista" of the southwest (and, eventually, of all America) is well underway. It is "quickening" and is becoming as real as The War With Islam.
And - as with The War With Islam - the question no longer is "is there indeed a war?", but rather, can our enemy be stopped, or is it too late? And, if it is _not_ too late, _how can_ the enemy be stopped?
It's both ironic and fitting that the title of the original post uses the term "The Mexican-American War, Round 2". We are literally being invaded by hostile non-citizens, year after year, by the MILLIONS, and almost no one in power will lift a finger to do anything to bring the invasion to a halt, letalone repel the illegal army already here. An enemy that threatens to destroy our wage base along with our culture and way of life.
I have become convinced that the United States is destined to _lose_ this second Mexican-American war. And, if we are _not_ to lose, I'm convinced that the only solution is a genuine shooting war with, and subsequent occupation of, Mexico by the United States.
This will result in the overthrow of the corrupt Mexican government, of course, although what must replace it is unclear. I advocate that we must consider after our occupation offering - perhaps, demanding - that the Mexican provinces enter statehood with the U.S.
Of course, you're now laughing and tossing the tinfoil my way. But consider: suppose we do _nothing_ (as we are doing now), or, worse, implement G.W. Bush's plan for "amnesty"? We will end up with a result that is _worse than_ having annexed Mexico and forced statehood upon the Mexican people.
The only other solution that will halt the invasion is to sever our relationship with Mexico and building an impenetrable wall between the two countries running from the Pacific to the Gulf. Anyone who argues that such a wall (and I don't mean a girlie-man "security fence") would not keep the overwhelming majority of border jumpers out is talking through their hat. Walls _work_ (witness that pesky one in Berlin, which I checked out from _both_ sides back in 1971). But, of course, I doubt that such a barrier is ever going to be constructed, even though that alone would save us from the conflict to come.
So, with no wall, I predict one of two possible outcomes: 1. The aliens from the south will continue to pour in, at increasing rates, until European-Americans become a miniorty within their own homeland. 2. We overthrow and annex Mexico, and force them to assimilate "towards" _our_ culture, rather than the other way around.
Conquer, or be conquered. Which will it be?
Cheers!
- John
It's the only way to be sure.
Very sorry about harpseal-there are too few as it is.
They're not coming for the free ride, they're coming because Mexico is horrible and getting worse.
And "shutting down the free ride" (really doing it, I mean, not politician BS) will curtail your and my civil liberties for a hundred years, and we may never get them back.
Much better to solve the problem at the source. Conquer Mexico, fix it, annex it, and we gain free citizens, a defensible southern border (with Guatemala), and natural resources.
It's not humor-it's a no-brainer.
Excellent, and true.
While life in Mexico might suck, what would be better about coming to a country where you can't get a job, a driver's license, medical care, voting rights, housing, government aid, or find a person who can understand what you are saying? It's not a great solution because people will still find ways to exploit our country, but do we really want Mexico to be part of our country? Their problems will not be solved overnight and then their problems would become our problems. I've never heard the civil liberties argument but I'm all ears.
Whatever happens, just don't mess up the beaches.
Every state with an initiative process should pass an Arizona style Prop 200. If for no other reason, do it to require ID presentation to vote. Even the Iraqis required a blue finger.
I quess it's time to finish up and take care of the southern half.
