Thanks.
I have been reading the links posted by backhoe here

and so far there aren't any real "successes" that I see. There are instances where the border patrol now has to not only look for illegals crossing over but monitor the "volunteers" as well.
Seems to be like adding to the burden of the Patrol agents, IMO. One step forwards, two steps back, for whose sake and name? Simcox? Savage? The fact Savage pushes it is enough to cause me to question it! The more things change, the more they stay the same. When this dies out, I doubt anyone will look back and say what a great plan it was, but I guarantee they will blame its failure on George Bush. It's chic' to do that nowadays, you know.
Doesn't sound like there's much of an illegal alien problem in Oregon.
From what I can see, the Minutemen deserve praise for their success in drawing national attention to this vexing problem.
"Seems to be like adding to the burden of the Patrol agents, IMO." Only if you're listening to BP management. Agents in the field have been praising the Minutemen, but have to be careful because of the higher-ups.
"I doubt anyone will look back and say what a great plan it was..." Remains to be seen.
