Why is Condi Rice the best GOP candidate for Prez in '08?

I couldn't help but notice that Condi Rice has a strong lead in the current Freep Poll for best GOP Presidential candidate in '08. I'm curious to hear what makes you think she'd be the best choice for the job. With the next Prez race so far in the future, I haven't made up my own mind about everyone yet. I'm looking for reasons why I should pick one candidate over another. So why should I cast my GOP primary vote for Condi instead of someone else?

It's a POLL here.
Nobody has announced candidacy yet.

Condi os certainly NOT the best GOP candidate. or one, she is apparently a pro-abort.
George Allen has a MUCH stronger resume, and he is a much stronger conservative candidate.
He is U.S. senator. he was a congressman. he was the governor of virginia (executive experience, which history has shown to be very favorable to candidates). etc.

Yuck... Allen was my governor. I prefer Cheney as the candidate.

I want to know why so many Freepers in this POLL are saying they support her. Who can answer that question for me? Why is Condi winning this POLL by such a wide margin? That's the question that led me to start this thread. Who can give us all an answer?

I prefer Cheney as the candidate.no way to cheney. especially with the health problems, his comments re Delay's words against the leftist jedges, etc.
There might be other candidates out there, but i would not encourage cheney to run. he won't, anyway.

Because in most (if not all) nationwide polls,
Condi BEATS Hillary.
That's the answer.

His health problems? Come on... he's done quite well in eight years. I hate that claim.

His health problems? Come on... he's done quite well in eight years.actually, no he has not. he's had some heart complications as VP. the last thing we would need is for that to flame up again right in the middle of a campaign--especially close to the election.
he indicated he'd not going to run, though, so it is probably a mute point.

Condi BEATS Hillary. Yep. In all head-to-head scenarios, Condi beats Hillary hands down.

It just rings in my ears with a democratic tone from the press. I don't buy it.

Yep. That's what I heard too, that he's not running for Prez in 2008, but he said he would throw his support to whoever the nominee happens to be.

Condi is the only Republican that can split the woman vote. If the republicans run another white guy for president, American women will vote 2 to 1 for Hillary and we would be toast.
Its that simple.

Heard the same thing, REPEATEDLY! Cheney is NOT going to run for president and that's that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It just rings in my ears with a democratic tone from the press. I don't buy it.no doubt the democratic press would make a big issue of it, but as for buying it, it is the reality that even dick cheney has sold.

The Cheney stuff reminds me of all those people we had
to repeatedly tell "Hillary is not running" last go round.

I want to know why so many Freepers in this POLL are saying they support her.I can answer that for myself. Cheney isn't running, Jeb doesn't sound interested, McCain is a RINO, and that pretty much leaves Condi.
