Terri Schiavo's remains buried in Clearwater
Sun-Sentinel ^ | June 20, 2005 | MITCH STACY

Posted on 06/20/2005 8:40:58 PM PDT by FairOpinion

Terri Schiavo's husband buried her cremated remains in a Clearwater cemetery Monday, inscribing on her bronze grave marker that ``I kept my promise.''

David Gibbs, an attorney for the woman's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, said inscribing the marker that way was a nasty political statement by Michael Schiavo, who held the service and burial Monday before telling her family.

``Obviously, that's a real shot and another unkind act toward a grieving mom and dad,'' Gibbs said.

After earlier announcing plans to bury his wife's ashes in their native Pennsylvania, Michael Schiavo instead interred them at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park in Clearwater, near Tampa, his attorney, George Felos, said in a short news release Monday.

MS is mocking Terri and her parents even now.

What a pathetic excuse for a human being.

A mom and dad who called MS a murderer.

That can kinda sting a little bit.

Maybe it was his "until death do us part, sickness or health" marriage vow, which apparently means you can shack up and have kids if your wife is incapacitated.

Schiavo Autopsy Brings Out the Worst in Terri's Opponents

Mr. Schiavo now has an agent and is shopping a book to New York publishers about his struggle. You can understand that after all those soft-ball interviews Mr. Schiavo got on network TV in the final months of his wife's life, the experience might have gone to his head, to make him feel that he has important ideas.

I have to agree. While the Terri Schindler case was going on and she was dying, I had to take a break and put some tunes on the radio. Being a little bit of a metalhead, the station played AC/DC's "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" and "TNT." The only small amount of humor I had was where I was thinking, "somebody could get ideas from this, maybe my maternal grandmother was right about that 'demonic hard rock music.'" B-D I still say Michael Schiavo is a jagoff and George Felos and Judge Greer are bigger jagoffs. Seriously, if I met that human scum in person, I wouldn't slug him, don't want to go to jail but I'll confess, the thought would cross my mind.

Terri's gravesite will now become a place to pilgrimage to, and a shrine. Mark my words. Michael would have been better off not burying her in FL where all the "supporters" will now parade to, giving Terri no peace even in her grave. I hope this doesn't happen, but I bet it will.

Terri's gravesite will now become a place to pilgrimage to...

Of course. That's why he buried her in Florida and not at the family plot in Pennsylvania.

I wouldn't want to have a relative buried in that cemetary now. Can you imagine?

No, that wasn't a promise that was just something he swore to do in court so he could get some money. Shesh.. doncah know the difference?

I guess you could say the oath to love her ,and to foresake all others, in sickness and health can't really be called a promise either....I don't want anyone to call me judgmental for goodness sake.

A strange (tin foil) thought came across my mind.

(I'm almost ashamed to think it)

Did he really bury her remains here?

Could he have just placed the marker there in Clearwater, as a "shrine" for those who wish to mourn her there (like her parents), and really took her remains to Pennsylvania where he originally intended to bury them?

His self serving" "I kept my promise" jab on the headstone speaks loudly of his mindset, not to mention his tastelessness.

/tin foil

He had the right to divorce her. Legally he could have done so any time three years after she became incapacitated.

She also had the right to a divorce. If she'd had an honest guardian, she would almost certainly have received one.

Nobody here is faulting Michael for wanting to get on with his life. Where we fault him is for his refusal to let Terri do likewise.

To claim that a married man who has not only slept with another woman, but fathered children by her and OPENLY PLEDGED TO MARRY HER should have any authority over his wife is to make a mockery of marriage.

Why would God want the last laugh/word when He is the one that allowed her to become a vegetable? If God was interested in a last laugh, at any time in the 15 years, he would have healed her and told her to walk out of the care home!

Get over it, she never, ever would have gotten better and Michael is not the monster that everyone here has libeled him as.
