A massive conventional response, or perhaps an attack with neutron weapons would still kill a number of people. I am no pacifist...believe me. My concern is that once the nuclear genie is out of the bottle there is no guessing where that will end.
I must admit, however, the temptation to turn somewhere in the middle east to glass in retaliation is, well, alluring from a vengeance standpoint. But that is precisely why that temptation alerts my concern.
Those two examples aren't even close. Now if you decided to hunt down and kill all of Ted Bundy's extended family...
Need more research?
"He should know better not to make quotes that could be used by Al Jazzera."
The islamic world needs to hear this kind of statement. Coddling the muslims and tip-toeing around the fact that islam IS the terrorist problem has done nothing but put us in greater danger. And if there is a nuclear attack by terrorist ANYWHERE in the world, we need to turn that whole litter box into the worlds largest sheet of glass.
If you idiots produced anything besides straw men, you'd be millionaires.
We are better than our enemies.
Our job is to ruthlessly kill the guilty, not the innocent.
Murdering innocent people is their shtick, not ours.
Uh stellar dorkhead bay buchanan is running tancredo's so called "stealth" campaig.
To drive the issue, he(tancredo) has started a political action committee, Team America, being run by Angela "Bay" Buchanan, who ran the campaigns of her brother, former presidential candidate Pat Buchanan
But you already knew that stellar dorkhead.
"Perhaps...but he's SAYING what all of us are THINKING..."
Thank you
Mecca et Medina delenda est!
When a dirty bomb or somesuch goes off in America, we'll see what happens..
I wouldn't think of it as retaliation just an object lesson.
Who's to say it wouldn't be Allah's will?
Pat does not run Tancredo's PAC.
Tancredo's words about our need for getting tough with terrorists and the countries (and religions) that sponsor them PROVES you are wrong about Tancredo being a Buchanan puppet. Can't you see that? You've just been discredited. When you're as deep as you are in the hole, wouldn't it be wise to stop digging? You're truly embarassing yourself.
Because martyrdom is the highest place of honor in their idea of paradise. They're not playing with a full deck of cards and you're expecting them to cower and run away if we nuke Mecca.
You can't compare this to Naziism. Hitler didn't promise eternal life. He promised a glorious nation that would rise out of economic ruin and control its own destiny. You have to be living to enjoy that fruit. The Muslims need to be dead to enjoy their "fruit", and they can't just kill themselves for no reason. The Wahabbists (read: the terrorists) believe martyrdom is the fast track to paradise and that it is their duty to die for that at any cost. (They killed Muslims in the WTC, too, so why would they care about the population of Damascus?)
"The rational response to a dirty bombing would be a large-scale partial deportation of Muslims from the US and the swift execution of thousands of radical Muslim activists."
Nope.
Cook 'em.
No...not now. Wait until the annual Haj pilgrimage when there are millions of worshippers there.
And FAST!
I'm yet to read an explanation why nuking Mecca is a better idea than nuking, say, Tehran.
The US and the UK did not deliberately target civilians. Even the infamous Dresden bombing was initially an attack on an important rail hub near the city center.
Priceless! bttt!
See reply #186.
pat and bay buchanan are inseperable.
No matter your contrary protestations.
We don't have to actually nuke the site, just fuel-air bomb it. Heck, we can design a special Kabala-Buster filled with petrol and pig-fat and trundle it through Washington every 4th July. Now that's deterrence.
