MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Alabama Gov. Bob Riley called for a travel boycott of Aruba on Tuesday until authorities on the Dutch Caribbean island cooperate more fully with the family of a Mountain Brook teenager who has been missing since a graduation trip in May.
Riley asked the governors of the other 49 states to join him in urging a boycott of Aruba on behalf of the family of Natalee Holloway, an 18-year-old Mountain Brook High graduate last seen on the island May 30.
Her mother, Beth Holloway-Twitty, joined Riley at the Alabama Capitol for the boycott announcement. She contends Aruban authorities have failed to adequately investigate the possible murder of her daughter, who was with a teenager, Dutch national Joran van der Sloot, and Surinamese brothers Deepak and Satish Kalpoe on the night she disappeared.
They were held for a time and released.
Just on the off chance that you still don't "get it", allow me to reiterate that I did NOT KNOW that I was talking about YOU when I asked who "the suit" was. Got it?

This is the same pic that his parents have on their mantle. I know, because I get Christmas cards from his mom.
You'd be on edge too if your good character was continually assaulted and impugned in one thread from 3 or 4 different directions.
I have no problem taking responsibility for my posts, BigSkyFreeper. Since you took the time to quote me (which I do appreciate), you obviously see that I NEVER called you "stupid". I'm sure that everyone who has read my post understands what my point was. That you are obviously convinced that your opinion is the correct one, the you were not going to be swayed by more posts, and that it would, therefore, be a waste of time to continue to argue the point with you.
"Well, we've done everything we can for the last five months. The Aruban police and justice depts. have worked their butts off to get the facts. Their skills and integrity have impressed us immensely. We owe them gratitude and we can't infringe on their hospitality anymore. It's time to move on."
None of us knows for a fact if Natalee was murdered or died from an overdose of something. Some hold out belief she was shipped somewhere as a sex trade victim. I don't tend to buy the latter possibility, but not even her parents know what happened to her.
The picture I saw was posted at #345. That picture was posted to ME, and only ME. Now, as for insulting your intelligence. I really wouldn't want to do that when you are doing such a good job of it yourself. Sorry, dude, but you left yourself wide open for THAT one, and well-deserved I might add. LOL
If that's all it takes....a four year olds stranger danger lessons to avoid victimization, then your daughter should be ready to vacation without Mom and Dad.
No matter what lessons your child has learned, if she is targeted by a criminal, she will likely be victimized.
Remember the little girl abducted while playing in her front yard? Or the two kids kidnapped from the home...family murdered...they were randomly targeted. The criminal spotted the kids playing in their yard and proceeded to put his plan into action.
You can teach your children well and they can do all that you have taught them and still be victimized. Criminals pick their targets....
I am calling a TRUCE here. I like Chena and I love you, BSF.
Now this is a truce.
Oh I get it. After being falsely accused of being "irrational", "stupid", or "not worth debating", I have a hard time taking anything you've said since seriously. Your problem not mine. Own up to your own posts and stop trying to make me apologize for them.
I have called a TRUCE.
Be that as it may, or may not, you know dang well that I, Chena, have NOT continually assaulted nor impugned your "good character". Come one, take off the suit, put your feet up and chill out. I don't mean that in a flip way, I mean that very seriesly. :)
Good idea! We should also boycott Washington, D. C. because
of failure to catch killer of Chandra Levy.
Not pointedly but you danced around it:
The rational behind such a mindset is beyond reasoning with.
I like you too, Onyx, and your advice is most excellent. Truce it is. As for you, BigSkyFreeper, I do understand your main point (personal responsibility). It's one of the best gifts any of us can give ourselves. :)
Too many people want to blame Natalee... now we cannot do that because Natalee is not around to speak for herself. We have every reason to believe that she met an awful fate -- that she was likely drugged, raped and dumped outside the barrier reef never to be found.
Her parents are hruting and Aruba blew the investigation from day one.
Let's keep our sympathies with her parents.
I remain convinced that the father of Joran is deeply involved. I think he masterminded the dumping of Natalee, which I believe was NOT a premeditated murder, but a drug overdose and raping gone bad.
Without question Joran's father is behind it. It's probably one of the reasons why Joran isn't staring at striped sunlight right now.
Onyx, you have stated it perfectly. Prayers for Natalie and her family & friends. Nice to see you again, onyx. See ya round the spool of threads. :)
For me, accepting personal responsibility for my actions was probably the one thing that saved my life and was instructive and taught me in ways no one ever could before. I realized later I did alot of growing up in that room in front of 4 cops, my parents, and the 3 PI's.
Goodnight, BigSkyFreeper. Please, no hard feelings. None of these threads are worth getting this upset over. BTW, now that I know that you're "the suit" (teehee)....well, nice suit. LOL
Chena (who lives under an even BIGGER sky, in Alaska....teehee)
