Why do this?
Because we don't want to offend a bunch of Islamic rulers?
Political correctness is going to kill us. If our policy was that no foreign nation would ever secure our ports, no issue of bias could be raised. And it would sensible, especially in war. But bias or not the issue of national security trumps any hurt feelings, real or exaggerated, among anyone. It's what makes government, the necessary evil, necessary. It's why they're here. They have a monopoly of force in this country to portect it. They extract huge dollars from us in taxes, not for everything else they stick their noses into, but for precisely this.
No country that consistently polls belief that the US had 9/11 coming, or that we did it ourselves to start a war, should be allowed such access as this. That should include all of the Middle East, excluding Israel but including France.
