There is no change in the workers who run this on a day-to-day basis. As I dnderstand it, the only thing that's changed is ownership.
With only 4% of incoming cargo inspected, and much of it already from the Mid-East, does it really matter that a UAE firm owns this rather than a Brit firm?
Yes, since the British are our allies in the WoT, and the UAE are not.
Yes, it does...we are in a war against them...Britian is out ally. This smells and it smells and it smells. I'm livid about this.
"With only 4% of incoming cargo inspected, and much of it already from the Mid-East, does it really matter that a UAE firm owns this rather than a Brit firm? "
And just when does it matter? That's pretty defeatist isn't it? We're already insecure, so let's invite our enemies to have more access?
Gee, my son would love that logic. My room and bed are just going to get messed up, so why bother to clean and make them. I'm just going to get dirty tomorrow, why bother to shower?
That's another misleading 'statistic'. I believe all packages are inspected by various means, x-ray, dog sniffing and other electronic means, but only a small percentage are physically opened and searched. It's simply impossible to open up and view every box.
That said, why would you want to throw your arms up in the air and so "oh well, it really doesn't matter because things are already bad now anyway"? If they're bad, let's not make them worse.
i tend to agree with you, and would go on to say that anyone wanting to bring something here may have done so already under any port administrator.
As you can see from the other replies you are getting, we are a minority.
I am surprised people here think that something all the democrats are piling on can possilby be what it is represented to be by them.
