BELGRADE, Serbia-Montenegro (AP)-His arriving coffin was left in the rain while airport officials signed paperwork. Its muted public display has drawn a fraction of the huge crowds he commanded in his heyday.
Slobodan Milosevic's memory and legacy are being unceremoniously snubbed by countrymen who blame the late Serbian leader for ruining the republic.

Please do not resort to slandering me just because you are angry, I haven't attacked anyone.
Either did A pole, I guess CC forgot how to debate and went straight into threat mode.
According to fox..

The crowd was estimated at 50 thousand with those supporters being organized and bussed in by the socialist party.
It appears it is not the case this crowd represents broad support for Slobbo.
That's a rather "generalized" statement don't you think? Want to talk about how many rapes and murders that occur daily in this country?
You're generalizations are inaccurate.
That's pretty much what I expected.
Sure rapes and murders occur in this country too....but you hardly see the large scale ethnic warfare here that you do in former Yugoslavia.
The history of this region is massacre upon massacre -systematically, one group against the other.
You also don't see - in this country- our soldiers or police rounding up innocent men, murdering them, and raping the women.
does the occasional crackpot do this? Sure.
Do we see this used as a systematic tactic against ethnic groups? No.
"Do we see this used as a systematic tactic against ethnic groups? No."
Nor were the prosecutors in five plus years of trial able to prove these kind of charges against slobbo.
You say this like the the trial is over and a verdict has been reached.
I'll wait to see how that plays out and view the information that comes from that once it is over.
When a leader announces he is going to win a war at all costs, and then people find themselves being targeted for massacre - it isn't all that hard to put 2 and 2 together.
You are asking me to believe that rogue bands of serbs were committing atrocities without approval from the top?
Gimme a break.
If that were true - then please point out when Slobbo condemned their actions.
Somewhere right now OJ is still looking for Nicole's "real killer"
uh huh
You and I know better. Clearly it was all calculated.
"I'll wait to see how that plays out and view the information that comes from that once it is over. "
You are really patient. Slobbo died waiting after more than five years. Funny how it only took 10 mos for the Nuremberg trials though.
The Nuremberg defendants weren't allowed to game the system to the point where they were only in court three days a week for 4 hours a day when they weren't on a court ordered 6 week recess to cater to their ill health, were they?
Slobo merely tried to draw out his trial as long as he could. In the end, his machinations quite likely cost him his life, which is a win considering the Tribunal's lack of a death penalty.
At any rate, Slobo's legacy remains on trial over at the ICJ, and it is likely that upon those verdicts history will judge Slobo in the end.
Thats's some fancy hoops you just leaped through (several in fact)in order to arrive at your own self inflicted apparently (on your part a) gratifying conclusion.
Slobo's misuse of his time while in court, being his propensity to give speeches rather than address the evidence are also a matter of record.
Which leaves Bosnia and Croatia's separate genocide suits against Serbia, which haven't stopped given Slobo's demise, and in large part are recapitulations of the charges against Slobo in the Bosnia and Croatia portions of his indictment at the ICTY.
Yeah, "hoops".
...meantime a conscious state of denial has been determined to be a precept to the perpetual state of emotional complicity regarding the arts of internal deception...to wit I find you a wittingly and illicit conspirator.
for these reasons and more, I ain't buyin your lies.
If you don't have a clue as to what you're talking about, just blow smoke.
I was mocking you.
unable to prove/resolve/conclude in 5 years. That must be some sort of world record for trials dont ya think? Considering Nuremberg only lasted ten months.
I guess they were more fast thinkers back then.
He was already deemed guilty by Del Ponte and the press.
"You are really patient. Slobbo died waiting after more than five years. Funny how it only took 10 mos for the Nuremberg trials though."
Yes I am patient - this is not Nuremberg.
Slobbo was given alot more rope than those defendants, and he used it to delay as much as possible.
His health issues also dragged it out.
Of course....I don't have a horse in this race, while you obviously do.
